This happened to me in previous releases. Stopping the video and re-starting brings the sound back. I had no problems after adding to autostart.sh

Oddly I was able to get the box booting from SD card today. Last night I tried at least 10-15 times with no boot activity.
The really strange thing is that the "x96" boot logo was not present during boot. The first thing I saw was the LE bootsplash. This was the same over several cold boots and reboots while I was restoring backups to sd. The x96 bootsplash returned only after I copied LE back to nand with "installtointernal."
Still not sure what happened. I doublechecked my device tree and it's the same one I'm using now. Possibly just a buggy Chinese TV box!

Not yet. Major pain because the only windows install I have is via Virtualbox and I haven't used it in forever plus I have to dig up my OTG cable. Hopefully I can reflash the firmware and get the bootloader working again.
This is too weird. Upgrade proceeded as usual with no errors.

Well, for the first time ever I'm bricked. X96 2G box update as usual to 8.1.1 from 8.1.0. Black screen, no hdmi output signal, no network, etc. Toothpick method not working either. Sigh.

We may have to start a name and shame thread for sellers to avoid - just the Website name and seller/store name.
I have one on the way, hoping I won't have a candidate for that list!

You would use a port forwarding rule on your router. Also, look into dynamic DNS service to get around your dynamic IP problem

I'm using a mxq box
The single web browser LibreELEC currently offers is Chromium in the x86-64 Generic build. I don't know which other browsers you have used.

That's odd. Here's my results on s905x -
type 16 bytes 64 bytes 256 bytes 1024 bytes 8192 bytes
aes-128-cbc 142601.09k 401685.67k 728886.88k 929721.00k 1011881.30k
Edit: This is on 8.0.2b

[Edit] So I'd be better just downloading the latest package and dropping it into the Update folder on the SD Card via Samba, and allowing it to update manually that way via a reboot?
Correct. The update channel in the link I posted is still experimental at this stage, so best off sticking to the tried and true manual method for now unless you are willing to risk your install.

However, could you tell me how to try around a bit myself? Or is that too complicated?
Is there any reason you couldn't just create a sync delay rule in advancedsettings?

Hi.
Is there any way to update to 8.02 for the nexbox a95x 2g using the Libreelec sd creator tool?
I think you need to have a look HERE
Basic procedure is:
1. Create and save a backup using LE Settings.
2. Download the 8.0.2 image you want (8.0.2b latest).
3. Create SD from those files using SD Creator.
4. Boot from SD and restore your backup file using LE Settings.
5. If you are satisfied after *thorough* testing use the "installtointernal" command to permanently install to your box's internal memory.

There is no official update channel for the Amlogic builds. If you know what you are doing you can try THIS.

audio output is set HDMI, however it goes over the optical
Yep this is expected. Audio is output over all interfaces simultaneously. Just be sure to set the channels to 2.0 so that DD and DTS are passed through the optical. I used that same type of setup for quite a while and and it works well.

Just an FYI to anyone using Kszaq's builds on s905x boxes. The 8.0.2b build has replaced LibreSSL with OpenSSL using hardware crypto specific to the s905x chip.
For me this has been a huge speed improvement. I have a 75Mbps ISP connection and with LibreSSL builds I have maxed out over VPN at about 17-20 Mbps. With the OpenSSL build I have consistently been seeing 45-48 Mbps and have even seen as high as 55 occasionally.
-
Any chance Kszaq's OpenSSL will port over to these builds?

OpenSSL in 8.0.2b is an enormous performance boost. I'm getting almost double the DL speed I was getting previously.
