Download it from this post, then it should work. (just tested it to confirm)
Btw, did you test it with this version "LibreELEC-S912.arm-8.2.4-S912-Subtitles-fix.tar" on which I am trying to get the display working?

No. As I thought it is only used for v.8.90.6 with display driver v.1.1.100
In your zip file is driver v.1.1 and that one I installed without luck.
It is for me very confusing with 2 versions of this driver, and autostart.sh not needed for new version which btw, I cannot find any more in repositorries. And more than one dtb.img make it even more confusing, so I get lost
When I sort my thoughts after a rest, I'll try with the newes driver v.1.1.100 I have in my archive together with vfd.conf. As I understand so far, in this case autostart is not needed, or?
OK, I used an old version of your "FD628 Display.zip"
Downloaded new version from your post, but with same results and same output in terminal like posted above...
Installed driver from your .zip
FD628 Display Settings:
Display type = 2
Common anode = ON
indexes -> 4, 0, 1, 2, 3
Result -> not even 1 pixel lights up.
Result, no change:

I see FD628Display (Team LibreELEC-1.1.100) is running; have it configured same as with LE_v.8.90.4(6) but no display
created autostart.sh
No way to get it to work, even light up any pixel...
Used new service.fd628_v.1.1.100 (and old v.1.1), from my archive with no results. I cannot find this service on repositories any more.
When I try to run commands from your instalation package, I get this:
install.sh: line 19: /storage/.local/share/fd628/FD628Service: Permission denied
test_led.sh: line 22: ./FD628Service: Permission denied
Is there a place to get all of these new DTBs? I rather do this once for all of them rather than one at a time.
I'll add the required data into them and post them. I'll also let wrxtasy know about this addition, maybe he'd be able to add that to all his future DTBs.
I know only of those from the link on Mega posted above...
Display MoreIt appears only S912's that are using the Hybrid Android/Linux GPU drivers are having such subtitle, video frame upset issues.
Subtitle rendering is a GPU function. We really need better optimised S912 Linux GPU video drivers to fix this LE S912 problem.
EDIT - good news S912 owners !
I see no S912 Subtitle / video frame problems now playing the above test clip when using this LE 8.2.4 Kodi Krypton release:
LibreELEC-S912.arm-8.2.4-S912-Subtitles-fix.tar
The Kodi user interface seems snappier now as well.
W.
YES, it works for me on my X92 box. Tested it for several hours with my colection of problematic subtitled material, and it works like charm. Finaly i can use HW decoding (on your 8.2.4 OC image) for ALL my video material, no more need to switch to SW decoding.
One minor thinng that I observed is that on some material video stutters when displaying the first subtitle, but after that all is running smooth.
Tnx,
but I have tried with this dtb.img before, and the reason I don't use it is simple; with all old dtb images I cannot use GPU overclock to full potential. With any old images I get 400/666MHz GPU clock speeds, using new 8.2.4 overclock image from @wrxtasy.
On the other hand, with new dtb.img, I pointed you to, I get GPU speeds of 500/792MHz. With this increase and with new "subtitle stutter fix" I can finaly play all my video material with hardware decoding without any issues on my X92 box.
Can you make/fix one dtb.img for my X92 box?
I have perfect display on 8.90.4 and 8.90.6, but new 8.2.4OC version from @wrxtasy works best for my needs, and I'd like to use it with proper display. With present dtb.img I can get only garbage...
The needed dtb image is "gxm_q200_3g.dtb" from HERE
Tnx for your work, which brings a big smile to my face!
Display MoreDid some testing on my X92 box, and here are results:
Running v8.2.4 (400MHz)
Turning overclock ON
Results with (666MHz)
Is there a way to get 792MHz on my box?
Above testing was done with old dtb.img...
Using proper dtb.img from 2018-03-28 I get 500/792.
Current GPU clock Frequency:
cat /sys/class/mpgpu/cur_freq
Did some testing on my X92 box, and here are results:
Running v8.90.4 (500MHz)
Running v8.2.4 (400MHz)
Turning overclock ON
Results with (666MHz)
Your version displays correct CPU freq on my X92 box
Is there a way to get 792MHz on my box?
Your version works OK playing all sorts of video files from local USB disk, no hiccups what so ever...
Trying new LE 8.90.6 build for a couple of hours om my X92 box, playing local files from my USB drive, these are my observations:
1. I get no sound on 2 channel (stereo) from AAC 2.0 videos, with PT ON or OFF.
All other audio formats I tried 5.1 or 7.1, DD or DTS play OK, local on my TV or PT to AV receiver.
2. When stopping an SD (576) video and then starting a HD (1080) video I first get (at the same time on screen) the last frame from SD video in full frame (1080) resolution and another picture of the same last SD frame in SD resolution in the left upper corner of the screen. After a couple of seconds chosen HD video takes over and plays normally.
Such keyboards are PlugAndPlay. No need for any additional configurations or settings for Default keyboard controls which you can find here: Keyboard controls - Official Kodi Wiki.
Of course you can modify such keyboards to your needs in Kodi with an addon like "Keymap Editor" :
On my X92 box the display works perfect with 8.90.6 and new dtb.img. Did not see (yet any "subtitle stutter".
Tnx for your work!
This is known a long time.
No, there is no chance to fix it in every special case.
I´m lucky - my hardware has no issue
How is it "hardware issue" when it does not exist without hw acceleration? Looks more like a video driver issue to me.
Also on my S912 box, no stutter with Playerdebug overlay on, with 8.90.4 and 8.2.2.3
There is no subtitle stutters with enabled playerdebug (ctrl+shift+o)
Maybe its a hint to fix this? Tested with 8.90.5 and 8.2.2.3
Same on my S912 box, tested with 8.90.4. and 8.2.2.3.
Either your X96 is not working OK, or your USB drive is not working OK, or you are doing something very wrong...
I have X96 and X96_Mini boxes, and on both I can install LibreElec (v.8.2.3.1 and v.8.90.4) on USB drive, even on an SD card inserted in a USB adapter.
It boots also when I install LE on SD card, and then put it into USB adapter and boot from USB port on my boxes.
I use only Sandisk Class-10 SD cards (8GB and 16GB) and Sandisk USB 2.0 and 3.0 drives (8GB and 16GB). They all work perfectly...
