You don't need to. Stick the img.gz file into the update folder, that's all I do.

Hi guys,I'm in testing with LE via USB with my S912 Mecool BB2 Pro Tv Box and LE work very well.
Anyway I've just bought the Beelink M18 S905 Tv Box and I 'd like to test LE via USB.
Specs:
Brand: Beelink
Model: M18
System: Android 5.1
CPU: Amlogic S905 Quad Core
GPU: Mali-450
RAM: 2G Type: DDR3
ROM: 16GSo the question: what kind of device tree should I choose?
This one "gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit.dtb" or gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit_OTG_Port.dtb ?
In M18 there is an OTG port... you can see here.
Logically I should use the gxbb_p200_2G_1Gbit_OTG_Port.dtb
It is so?
Thanks
Magnum
Do you realise you are in the wrong part of the forum? this is for S905, you need to be looking at thread-5848.html
i guys i m sorry if i m wrong spot but its my first time to install libreELEC i see many People with the boxes do not turn ON anymore wour stuck in logo and I'm afraid so any help hare welcome my box is mx g18 ref generic thank you .
Just install to microsd card, if it doesn't work, take out the card. Android will still be there.
Recently, I also solved the remote control problem through this site. There is one more problem, but it does not shut down right away and it keeps rebooting.
How do I resolve this issue?
I do not speak English well and I upload it through Google Translator.I Have H96 pro(not +)
I have the H96 pro (not +)
I have Libreelec running from usb. when in Libreelec, when I press the red off button on the remote, my device shuts down
If I use the kdo menu to shut down, I get a choice of reboot or shutdown
When in Android, settings, preference, power, I can select turn off or resume . suspend
I have shutdown selected.
Thanks but it didn't work, buttons all mixed up.
From this post thread-2915.html
that is not the exact post, but from what I remember
ssh into the box. type dmesg press a button on the remote & make a note of the code then edit the remote file

Yes I have followed all the instructions when I initially started to try and create the sd card. I have followed all the instructions several times now and I'm fairly certain I am doing everything properly.I have used the following image:
LibreELEC-S805.arm-8.0-8.0.1a-m201d.img from Index of /s805/8.0.1a/I have created the sd card with the following methods:
1. Win 10 - Rufus
2. Ubuntu - 3.2 Installing using Linux guide from Installation - LibreELEC
3. Ubuntu - LibreELEC.USB-SD Creator from LibreELEC USB-SD Creator - LibreELECAll 3 methods produce the same results with the 3 files on the sd card which are:
aml_autoscript
kernel.img
SYSTEMWhen viewing the sd card in Ubuntu there are 2 additional files:
kernel.img.md5
SYSTEM.md5LE will not run on the mx pro (TV110 Android Tv Box, ARM-Cortex-S805-A5 Quad core CPU 1.5GHZ) box. If I put the same sd card in my M8 ARM-Cortex-S805-A5 Quad core CPU 1.5GHZ box LE runs fine.
I think that LE simply does not work for my mx pro box, shame because I hate android on there.
Have you tried spmc on android? or kodi? both are in the play store.
i do exactly what u say .but the liblreelec wont start 'when i plug the usb to the h96
i try this method "toothpick method: disconnect the power supply, insert card/drive, push reset button and connect the power while holding the button. Wait until LibreELEC logo appears and release the button."
I release the rset button after about 10 seconds, & before the libreelec logo appears. Not sure if this would work.
from thread-5848.html delete the dtb.img altogether further down on that post, try Pelicans dtb
He has the same box as you.
otherwise, I can't help you any more.
thanks again
i do the installation
i didn't understand "browse sd card, add the device tree for your device, delete old one, & rename new dtb to dtb.img"
what is the old one?
After you have burnt/created the sd/usb image.
explore, the sd/usb, you will see some files, this is from a windows pc
there will be a dtb.img, delete that
then add/copy the device tree you downloaded gxm_q200_3g.dtb rename that to dtb.img
Note, you will get a warning message about changing the file extension. ignore it.
then using toothpick method, try it
thanks
i try via usb but no success
do you have guide for rufus?
download the img.gz file, from the screenshot on here Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way
where it says iso, select dd
burn image, then browse sd card, add the device tree for your device, delete old one, & rename new dtb to dtb.img
use toothpick method to boot to libreelec

I ALL
i have h96 pro + (16gb 3gb ) i download the installation file Index of /s912/8.0.1b-experimental/
and install it on usb with “LibreELEC USB-SD Creator"
i didn't mange to boot in to it via h96 pro +
i try two different usb connection
i will be glad for help
thanks shay
I have the H96 NOT Pro 16GB 2gb. I couldn't get mine to boot from sd, so I used a usb drive & burnt using rufus.
In fact I think usb is faster than sd.
I've got 2 sd cards 1 to unbrick it ( made with burn card maker ) and 1 to brick it ( libreelec)Android was working again before i tried running libreelec as thats the requirements to run libreelec from sd card. Im going to burn another image to the sd see if that helps. Failing that would it be ok to burn the sd with Amlogic Burn Card Maker?
Did you follow the how to install instructions & the link to the wiki?
Did you end up with the 3 files?
I have Libreelec on 3 devices. When I upgraded to 17 & got estuary, I did as the link shows, & "get more" to install other skins. I think confluence comes with the default repository. So it should be there. Are you connected to the internet. (sorry if it's a silly question)
I use Titan, I know you want confluence. But try it out
The sd card with LibreELEC-S805.arm-8.0-8.0.1a-m201d.img just keeps bricking my box. After the box boots I get the android man then I got about 7 lines of information stating things had failed, sorry can't remember exactly but it was something like "E failed write cache" After I rebooted my box is now bricked again and goes to recovery mode only. Why is this happening?
How can I just install to nand instead? Thanks bubblegum57
from thread-2158.html
choose from this Index of /s805/8.0.1a/ I download, the XXX.img.gz
from this page thread-200.html
How to install:
[hr]
Before installing, make sure that you have a fully-functional Android firmware on your box. Most of all make sure that powering on by remote control works in Android.
SD card:
So, unpack the img.gz use 7zip
It sounds like you need to get your android working first.
I do not know how to do that, but I suppose you need to download the correct android firmware from, I don't know where, then use the amlogic burning tool? Freaktabs might have info on that.
Cant get additional skins on Libreelec 8, Kodi 17 - only Estuary and Estouchy are offered - . Need Confluence ! ,

Hi bubblegum57,I used LibreELEC.USB-SD.Creator.Linux-64bit.bin to create the sd card. The sd card did work fine on my M8 box!
Would your suggested method be a better option?
Perhaps this thread-6427.html could help you.

Not sure if it's better, but you could easily try it. It's pretty quick
Hi all,I have a MX Pro Android Box which I am trying to run LibreELEC-S805.arm-8.0-8.0.1a-m201d.img on. The sd card is fine as it runs on my M8 box fine.
The problem with the MX Pro is the tooth pick method does not work. The box now just boots to recovery.
If anyone can give me any advice I would appreciate it.
PS Great work to the LE team.
Try burning the image with rufus, then add the correct device tree renaming it to dtb.img
Try hard wiring temporarily, it could be the source. Or get an addon like Indigo to test your speed.
