I know it's difficult to determine without logs but I can't get debug logs as Kodi log is stuck in read only mode so nothing gets written to log.

Assuming you installed to sd or usb, then just create a new image with an older version.

I use coreftp lite to copy files too, perhaps that will work for you.

I have just been having a play with my remote.conf

I can't explain what these things mean.

Have you enabled mouse in kodi, settings system, input, devices

Regarding the coloured buttons, I just used the same procedure to find out the codes,

My Red, setup button is not configurable, the others, App to stop, volume + FF volume - REW

personally, I would zero fill the usb before burning the image, just in case there is a problem with it.

I plan on using the LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.1.6.img.gz and gxbb_p200_2G_100M.dtb even though the specs on the aliexpress page say GIGABIT, I'm pretty sure it's not true.

If I'm about to make a mistake, please let me know. I have done this previously on my A95X, but never on an S905 based unit, so I am a little nervous about it.

To ensure you install the correct device tree, install to microsd card first, if that device tree works, then use it on NAND

You must have downloaded the wrong device tree, I do not know exactly what your ram or network port speed are, so I gave you the link for you to work it out.

If you had read this in the past you would have followed the recommended instruction to install to microsd first.

I do not know if there is a way to copy another device tree to the update folder, when it hasn't booted. Perhaps someone else does.

However, I am sorry it hasn't worked for you.

If there is a newer version than the one you originally used. Although I think some people depending on their device didn't need one.

Not sure what version you have, but I just copy the latest xx.img.gz to the update folder, but I think, the xxx.tar works as well.

I also check to see if there is a newer device tree & put that in the update folder as well.

IF, you find any issues with a newer version, you can just put a previous version in the update folder.

No settings are lost.

Copy the updated file to the update folder & reboot. Use windows explorer, type in the ip address, to see the update folder

With rufus, did you select dd from the drop down list?
