i thought that i read somewhere some time ago that there would be a build-in solution for retrogames coming with Kodi 17.Is that true and will it be availible for genereic as well?
No Retroplayer was not merged and won't be until kodi 18 at the earliest.
however I run retroplayer test builds which can be had here, LibreELEC

Any ideas how I can diagnose this further? Is there a driver missing or something?If it doesn't even show up in your system then there isn't much we can do. Perhaps you have a bad CEC adapter. Try it in other hardware to see if it works.
The only success I experienced with CEC was with OpenELEC Legacy (5.0.8 & Kodi 14.2), it was working flawlessly.
With newer OpenELEC and LibreELEC builds, it worked for a few hours (with luck some days) after rebooting (RPI is always on) and then the CEC functionality was lost.
With LibreELEC 7.0.2 update CEC doesn't work entirely.This is the first I've heard of this, please elaborate.
libCEC has been updated for kodi 17 krypton, please test out an alpha build if you want to test a new version of libCEC -

seems this remote can just use the hid-topseed driver included in the kernel, why would we want an out of tree driver?

Do you have auto updates turned on?
We just pust 7.0.2 in the auto updater, so if it wasn't working before try again.

Thanks for the guide. I have tried to overide the default "/usr/share/kodi/media/Fonts/arial.ttf" with windows arial.ttf . However, it is in a only read-only mount system.mount -o rw,remount /usr
with error "mount: can't find /usr in /proc/mounts"
cat /procs/mounts
does not help how to solve the problem.
How to remount for read-write the mountpoint /usr/share/kodi/media/Fonts/ ? Thanks
The filesystem is read only.
Use /storage/.kodi/media/Fonts/
