Kabylake shouldn't need a pulse 8 cec adapter, check your bios settings to make sure the native cec is enabled and stop using the pulse 8 adapter.alternately, make sure the native cec is disabled if you do intend to use the pulse 8 adapter.
I don't think there are any drivers for the on board cec adapter yet.

Kodi 17.1 has been out for a day. The next LibreELEC release will be out when we deem it ready.
you have to reboot after making changes to advancedsettings.xml for the settings to take effect (or restart kodi, systemctl restart kodi)
You can do it using grub2, however, we use syslinux.

Nothing will change for the 8.x series. This has been fixed in master already if you want to test a recent milhouse build (rpi or generic only).
You can update it manually if you really want but we keep it up to date and it updates when we release a new LibreELEC version.

The failure of starting xorg server used to happen once at two or three days. I have done exactly as per info, entering "touch /storage/.config/udev.rules.d/96-nvidia.rules" and then "reboot".
Now the LibreELEC does not start, it stays stuck at xorg problem. I have rebooted and accessed ssh and entered the command again, the same result. Please take a look at the pictures. Please suggest what should I do.
You have a Nvidia graphics card you so don't want this. To fix it just do
rm /storage/.config/udev.rules.d/96-nvidia.rules
then reboot

LibreELEC is *not* a media server. We do include the ability to share drives via SMB however the functionality is rather simple.
I think your best option is to setup a file server that can share your files, then use LibreELEC on another device as a client.
It's hard to know.
