Hi kszaq
I finally upgraded from LE7 to LE8, after having tested a few x264/x265 with "fast" scenes. 8.0.1c is IMHO the first Kodi 17 release to work perfectly.
Thanks for your hard work and enjoy another cup of coffee

When the changes are considered stable, I will port them to my 7.0 build. You might be able to replace zImage only, but I can't promise it'll work.
Thanks !
I must have done something wrong, a repacked kernel.img with the new zImage does not boot...
I spoke too soon about skip frames, I still encounter some when using passthrough (to an optical sound bar) with Kodi 17.1
kszaq, do you plan to "backport" this kernel update to 7.03 ? I still find Kodi 16.1 to be the best release on S905X...
In order to test this new kernel with 7.03, I've unpacked kernel.img with abootimg.
Do I only have to overwrite zImage before building the new .img ?
Thanks in advance !
Hi kszaq
8.0.1b seems much better on my M8S II (see signature). I was still using 7.x, because with passthrough I had a lot of skip frames with 8.0/8.01 (and I don't think my material or setup, Synology NAS using OS mounted NFS shares, is to blame). Thanks again for your work
7.0.3.012j in OP.Changelog:
- fixed reading ethernet MAC address from eFuse and added reading from nand_env
- minor improvement in copying user data in installtointernal script
- experimental: better scaling of Mali cores for smoother GUI
Hi kszaq
thanks for your continous work !
For the record, link in OP still points to 12i
On topic: is it only me or could be a known issue - the colours are a little bit darker compare to Jarvis (same box, same tv)?
Hi
I feel the same, a litte bit darker and/or contrast higher.
This week-end I'll do a proper test on the same TV with 2 SD cards.
Frame skips are fixed since beta6.
Hi kszaq
I've also seen a lot of "frame skips" using 8.0.0b, on a fresh install. Especially when seeking into a file.
I'll post a proper bug report later today.
Hi Ray
sorry, I didn't know that
With a Mini M8S II, you can either run 'rebootfromnand' or halt the box and remove the micro SD card.
Beelink MiniMXIII II (S905X) works very good from sd, but when i install it internaly by installtointernal and boot without sd - remote stop working. Reboot from sd and remote works again. Any help? Thanx.
Hi
'installtointernal' will copy your .kodi directory, but not the content of .config (where is stored remote.conf).
Can you try copying .config/remote.conf by hand ?
Hi zorrua
yes, it works either with the original remote, or a Logitech Harmony.
I don't have a USB keyboard to test...but I guess you can only wake up using the IR port.
Hi chewitt
suspend / wake up works fine on my S905X Mini M8S II.
I can use 'XBMC.Suspend', blue LED turns off, and then wake up the box with the remote.
It didn't work with 7.02.009, but it works at least since 7.03
Hi kszaq
if boot from USB is disabled (running "fw_setenv upgrade_step 1"), is it still possible to boot from USB with a toothpick ?
Can someone tell me how to replace the dtb file on the
internal installation without losing all the data/the installation?
I would burn another SD card with the latest release, then boot from it.
Mount /dev/data to /tmp/internal_data (/dev/data is your internal /storage), and backup your /tmp/internal_data/.kodi folder.
You can then run 'installtointernal', and restore the .kodi folder.
Hi
I've uploaded mine (for a Mini M8S II, S095X 2/16 Gb) here : LE 7.02.009 – Google Drive
If anyone have old s905x 009 version libreelec kindly share the link because old link of libreelec is not working anymore...
Hi
here's the link to 7.02.009 : LE 7.02.009 – Google Drive
Hi
here's the one I'm using (found on this forum) : remote.conf - Google Drive
