    Hello try this one...
Intel VAAPI howto with Krypton v17 based on Ubuntu 16.04 server

It looks like it is the new videoplayer in kodi or a driver issue on x86 hardware in LE8.

I don't have a build system at the moment to build a version of LE8 but with kodi 16.1 if this is possible.
    (Or LE7 with kodi 17)

What I don't understand ist why is this a x86 problem never heard of such a behavoir on pi or arm hardware.

Is the kodivideoplayer not as much optimized for x86?

Krypton adds dithering to video processing causing higher CPU load.

In worst case you may get 100% CPU load and video stuttering on slower CPUs.

Dithering is enabled by default, your settings level has to be "Expert" to be able to disable it.

    Good suggestion!

but, dithering is turned off entirely in LE8.
Was the first thing I dissabled after fixing refresh rate.
Also audio settings are the same as in LE7.

    Is vaapi and/or vdpau enabled?

On the intel gpu vaapi is on only
On nv gpu vdpau is on only

    Enhanced shaders GLSL
    HQ Scaler above 10℅

    Scaler Lanczos 3 optimized
    Intel vaapi motion comp
    Nv vdpau deinterlaced

Settings are exactly the same on v7 and v8

(The j1900 GPU (4 EUs) is not able doing smooth vaapi deinterlacing and upscaling HD material that's why im using the nv card here)

For testing i put the nv in the other System.

But on both intel and nv CPU load is higher with LE8.

LE7 CPU load is 8-16℅ intel 5-12℅ nv
LE8 CPU load is 25-65℅ intel 20-45℅ nv

So higher load on intel gpu...

    Hello...

LE8 final has the same issue as the Betas.
Maybe thats a Kodi problem due to changes in the video framework/new player....

On video playback, live tv HD and SD CPU load is 3-4 times higher than with LE7 Kodi 16.1.

To be sure and to proof it i disabled any power saving downclocking. So the system is running at a fixed clock speed.

Also clock speed is reported wrong .

Both issues on 3 different x86 systems.
    Asrock N3700 onboard Video
    Asrock j1900 nv gt730
    Intel i7 6700 onboard video

First I thought it is a lack of Hardware Rendering but it is not. It is using the same deinterlacing/scaler settings as kodi 16.1(LE7).

    Maybe someone encountered the same....

    Hello!

I had MePo (v1.02 to v1.5) runing for about 3-4 years with 2 Mepoclients. By that time the MePo TVServer needed a plugin for Kodi/XBMC. I finally got it working but never reliable.

I played around with mythtv, yadvr and Kodi (xbmc in the past) on ubuntu later with OpenElec 3/4.x as client, MePo as Backend wich wasn't quite stable and zapping was slow. I tried Argus TVserver also bought DVBviewer, non was working well in my opinion. After a short periode with ubuntu and VDR I finally ended up with TvHeadend on Ubuntu/OpenElec. By now I am using my main Libreelec client as TVserver another PC and a Pi2 as well a Tab as clients. On the tab I am using the TVH APP for live TV.

    Hello!

Can you tell something about the hardware and Software the server is running?

Or is it like that?Take a look here:
    LibreELEC

Try to dissabled HPET in the BIOS
(Should be in the ACPI settings on ASROCK Boards)

    Or:

    Via SSH:

    Code
    mount -o remount,rw /flash
    Code
    nano /flash/extlinux.conf

Add " hpet=disable" at the end off the append line

    Code
    APPEND boot=LABEL=SYSTEM disk=LABEL=STORAGE quiet hpet=disable

    Ctrl+x to save

    Code
    mount -o remount,ro /flash

    Reboot

    Hello!

First of thank you for LE!

Since OE6 there seems to be a Problem if at TV Settings>Powersaving Wakeup is set to /usr/bin/setwakeup.SH and a Timer is set.

On Timer wakeup LiveTV stutters. If not do this:
    Disable TV
    Clear EPG
    Clear TV Channels
(TO FORCE AN ENTIRE RELOAD OF CHANNELS AND EPG)
    Enable TV
Or wait for the first EPG Refresh.

    You can try by yourself:
A Timer has to be set!
    Set /usr/bin/setwakeup.sh
    Disable TV
    Clear EPG
    Clear TV Channels
(TO FORCE AN ENTIRE RELOAD OF CHANNELS AND EPG)
    Enable TV

The system will Wake up for a recording but
TV stutters and also the recordings has the same issue.

If you clear the setwakeup.sh everything is okay but the system no longer wakes up for a Timer.

I was trying this with different versions of OE 6 up to the latest LE and all versions doing this. OE 5.0.8 was the last one Timer Wakeup was working without issues.
(I also tried with different TvHeadend and VDR Builds.
(Tried VDR to be sure if it is a TvHeadend issue or not)

Nothing Shows up in the log files. It's simply not working.

I also took a short Video of the issue.
I can Upload or send it to you.

Seems to me something got changed (since OE 5.0.8) how rtc Alarms getting handled. So maybe a System not a VDR/TVHEADEND thing.

The Solutions at the Moment are:
    1. Let the PCs on if a recording is set
    2. Downgrade the J1900 to 5.0.8 and install the 2nd DVB card and connect to it from the N3700 (5.0.8 is not running on the n3700 due to newer GPU)
    3. Set up a TV Server
