A Full SBS on the Pi5 with this beta works fine and no resolotion loss. Just because it's squeezed before activating SBS mode does not mean you are losing anything when it's unsqueesed in the buffer. It would be pointless doing FSBS otherwise.

Tested more on Sunday and all good. Very stable. Even tried some old SBS 50Hz TV captures provided changed the interface to 50Hz.
Been quite a few weeks, what with my Valerian getting an update to fix Full 3D finally (and resetting zoom to be perfect), this great test build, edge264-mvc decoding MVC on Linux and possibility of an ffmpeg solution in future. Happy 3D days for us fans. Always nice to have options as the HW decoding is fading away.

AV1 is fine again, just needed a reboot.

Not had chance to revisit this week, but applied the 'MVC mkv fixed' build from post 17 this evening. System is set to 1920x1080 (60). The "preferred mode" is "over/under". The MVC mkv are playing in 3D now. The Valerion MAX projector also auto-switches to Framepacked mode (like the Vero V). So that's great!!!! No matter what did before on the ffmpeg 8 or 9 builds, MVC mkv always was in 2D whatever mode or combinations selected.
Assume this build from post 17 is ffmpeg 8? Only say that, as played an 8bit AV1 Full SBS too, and it stuttered a bit, whereas on the ffmpeg 9 build it was fine with no drops. I know this is pushing the Pi5 but was pleasantly surprised with a Full SBS AV1 8bit playing fine on the ffmpeg 9 build!
Thanks again for this. If you need specific logs or steps to do, can also help, but can't till weekend. -
Thanks so much for this. The ISO playback is working on the Panny TV and Valerian Projector (though not auto-detecting). Are there any plans for mkv? I've tried all ways of naming and all play 2D regardless.
Think the projector is not adverting all its modes though (just that its 3D capable). The whitelist does not show all the modes it supports like the TV. Is there a way to override this (like with Vero 5 had to add them in the disp_cap_3d file). But this is really good news and Linux with an MVC decoder could be a real thing one day.
