Just wanted to record this here just in case it helps someone.
i run libreelec/kodi on rpi’s. I sometimes had issues with wifi, the dreaded ‘invalid password’ that seems to come from weak signal strength etc. Yesterday i updated one of my pi’s to 12.2.1 and got this problem again but this time couldn’t fix it.
Then I noticed that a setting in my router had a warning. It seems having 802.11ax mode enabled can cause problems with certain systems. So I disabled it and voila, the pi connected immediately after starting up.
