Otherwise it is working great when setting cec-ctl --playback manually.

So I might have gotten closer, but no cigar. The Displayport adapter and TV connection seems to be generally working. When I ran for example "cec-ctl -s --to 0 --active-source phys-addr=1.0.0.0" from this thread, the TV switched to input HDMI 1, which makes sense. cec-ctl -m did not record any inputs from my TV. The same TV/Cable setup is also working with an Odroid N2 and Coreelec.
I did not really have time to troubleshoot further today, but will paste some logs for future reference.

I did a build with CEC_FRAMEWORK_SUPPORT="yes", but there is nothing under peripherals and not many clues how troubleshoot.
I'm using Asus PN51 (AMD) and a Ugreen displayport to hdmi adapter.
