I had read some articles about youtube, amazon prime and netflix and so on...

Which Box would you recommend for that?

I was trying to set up Youtube Addon on kodi with the API keys. It worked some days, but now with the nighly build it stopped working because inputstream something is not available...

I am considering another box for that for practicability, what should i take? Amazon Cube, nvidia Shield, etc?

    Thanks

    Daniel :)

    Hello Friends,

    may i reactivate this thread...

I have upgraded my Home Cinema Setup to 4k with a Nuc11 and the Optoma Uhz2000.

After i got the Info to use the No.2 HDMI Port (right from backside), it works now with LE perfectly and plays back the 4k movies in my library. (tested with Titanic, HP deadly hollows, maveric)

Now the Hardware Questions: I read a lot these days about Nvidia Shield and other boxes (Android TV, et al.).

Could anybody explain in short terms, is it worth to get one of thoses additionally to the Nuc? Do they something more/better? What could i watch with them additional?

First, i want to get the German TV Librairies up and running (Ard, ZDF, et al), i think there is an Addon from Kodinerds.

Then i like to play my yt channels (have to setup those API keys stuff).

What else is there with 4k Content?

Thanks a lot for some new hardware geeks... :)

PS: i was too long out of this topic, playing my 1080p library along. I started with my first HomeCinema in 2001... don't ask what we spend on decent Beamer Hardware those days... :)

    Hello Friends,

i have turned around these problems for years. The last weeks i took a new approach to find out what the problem is with the HD Audio Formats not played back via passthrough because i upgraded my system to 4k playback:

    My Hardware: NUC11TNHi5, Denon AVR-X3600H

First things first: Intel Nucs DO Playback HD Audio (DTS HD-MA, TrueHD, etc), it is not a hardware issue, like indicated above!

The Problem (after my research) is the pipewire and pulseaudio audio Server. They are occupying the ALSA system in such a way, that i cannot get HD Playback as long as the two are running.

I tested this today with a vanilla minimal xubuntu where i removed pulseaudio AND pipewire and OLA - it plays back! :) Until now i played back only with mpv media player. But now i want to try this way with kodi...

So here is my question: How do i remove or deactivate permanently pipewire and pulseaudio on LibreElec?

    Any ideas?

PS: I reactivate this topic, because it is still current instead of starting a new thread. But the aim is to work out a detailed how-to to get this to work... :)
