Didn't take you long before having a crack at me did it big guy.

My back story is irrelevant but yours somehow transcends all criticism. how relevant is it that you as a moderator have a Pi that works to a new user whose doesn't?

Why don't you just publish a list of common channels that work?

I'm new to this so I kept it general not knowing what would help and, unless I hit an import button without realising, this was a virgin install from either the Raspberry Pi site or the LibreELEC as I tried both. So that's a RPi5 then.

As I looked at the interface I somehow came across a large list of sources of which ESA (European Space Agency) was one, to my delight that one worked. Sadly however the rest of the ones i tried didn't.

It was at this point I thought everyNEWone must share this issue and wouldn't it be better to actually include a library of valid sites with an install form stating what parameters that channel needed rather than defaulting to 'Failed' as that isn't any help at all to a new user who has no knowledge of the technology.

I'm not looking for porn or illegal downloads I just want to replace my Roku's with something that isn't so nosey about my content consumption, which is all legal and above board. I'm like that because no one respects our privacy these day's making massive incomes out selling stolen personal information and I just don't like that.

As for the car everything in my car is automated, monitored, controlled and diagnosed by computer so the only thing I can ever say is the extent to which I know ie it won't start but, I don't think its related to its colour.

I'll reinstall from LibreELEC then see how this list appeared, note the entries that don't work and if I can get at them come back with the logs after reading wiki.

the install was an impressive 2 minute walk in the park but many hours later the only addon that works is esa the rest seem to fail with a myriad of errors. is there a distro available where the add-ons just work like roku or perhaps one that say drops you into a form that hosts the required fields for that add-on to work?
