The file plays software decoded on an RPi5, albeit with an abysmal frame-rate (but frames are rendered). Have you done previous tests on the same 1080p display device? - forcing Kodi to downscale 4K prores to 1080p probably doesn't help the cause.

    Hey there,

I tried a few nightlies on this box, and none of them will play video - the audio plays but there's no video (the mouse cursor gets reproduced over and over as I move it).

I've tried updating from 12.2 to a 13-nightly on the hard drive as well as booting from a live usb - same behavior.

I have tried a UHD monitor, same behavior.

I have tried disabling hardware acceleration in settings, same behavior.

There's clearly something up with differences in video rendering between 12.2 and the 13-nightlies on this AMD/Radeon system, but I don't know enough about how Kodi/LibreElec work to go any deeper but I'm happy to try any tests / logging that might help track down the cause.

    thanks!

Thanks for checking! can you let me know which nightly build you used?

Is your system running similar hardware to mine? (Ryzen 7 8745hs, Athlon 780m)

btw, i have multiple pieces of prores content that exhibit the same issue -- but I can't share them because a) they're giant and b) I can't share them :D

    Hey there,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

So yes both tests are on exactly the same player (beelink) and 1080p dispaly device. As I mentioned, the content plays fine with release "LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-12.2.0".

The only thing that I change is that I boot a nightly (in this case: LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-13.0-nightly-20251025-a854a6f) in live mode off of a USB stick. The content that's being played is still on the nvme internal drive.

I do not know if it is a useful data point (since it appears that the DRM Prime switch was removed in LE 13), but I can make the content not play in LE 12.2.0 if I turn DRM Prime *on* in that version.

    thanks!

    Hey there,

I've only been playing with LibreElec for a few days, so its possible that this very much is pilot error, but I thought I'd report:

    - I have a new beelink SER8 here, and yep its kinda overkill for video playback - but I've been trying to find something with enough horsepower to playback very high rate prores content.

    - on 12.2 the beelink can playback 4k 23.976 Prores 422 HQ content just fine

I thought that I would try the nightly, just to see if it was faster/better/different than the current release version and I find that all of the nightlies that I try (I tried a few!) will not play this content at all. I Just get a blank screen instead of video.

I found a piece of sample content that you can download and try that also exhibits this same issue. You can find it here: https://www.dji.com/inspire-3/samples (scroll all the way down to item that is 3rd from the bottom, 4k, 24fps, Rec709, "nature052-A006C0032_230328_4U1Q.mov"). It is about 10 seconds in duration.

this file plays fine on 12.2 - which is installed on the internal drive of the beelink.

I booted the latest nightly of 13 in "live mode" on a USB stick. (hopefully that's not the cause!?)

Please let me know if there's anything else I can try / test / report!

    thanks,
