One note, though, is that the file in my fresh 12.0.1 install has the following lines:

I will have to figure out the audio_pwm_mode effect. Probably by digging in the ALSA or PulseAudio docs, but maybe by experimenting.

My wired speakers are about 30 cm from the Pi. Nice ones that I have had for at least 10 years, and have no need (or interest) to replace. I also do not see any sane point to adding a USB sound device that would provide a connection that I already have in the Pi.
The audio used to work in a 9.2 version of LibreELEC.
Settings/Audio does not offer headphone audio, but does offer the disabled Bluetooth
. raspi-config is not installed in 12.0.1 (SSH enabled).
How do I get headphone audio back?
