Thanks for answering, that sound very complex I'll give it a shot with LE13. Final question: do you suggest to install from scratch or can I update my current LE12?

..and bonus question, since I use Samba to place files on a usb storage connected to the rpi5 from a Windows 11 laptop, using NFS server as an alternative to Samba is viable on LE12 and make sense?

Thanks for moving the post, but my concern with LE13 is that from my understanding it's just in a "test" phase, so I may end up having the same problem and some new ones too :(. Downgrading to LE11 is an option? Or will you still recommend moving to 13?

Don't know if this is the same issue but I upgraded last week to LE 12.0.2 on a Rpi5. I use to upload files to the Rpi5 using network shares and with LE 11 I was getting 16/17 MB/s now I get on average 5/6 MB/s on the absolutely same device and network. Is the same issue that has been resolved on the nightly?

It sounds like a bug of some kind .. but it's not a LibreELEC bug, so best to post it in Kodi forums for their devs to triage.
Yep, I thought so, still it's something that drives me kind of crazy. It doesn't happen on the kodi instance I have on Windows (it's the same-ish version) it happens only on the kodi that runs on the raspberry and I tried posting here to make sure it not some specific LibreELEC config..
I'll do as you suggested and try on the Kody communities, thanks

Apparently this happens only from Chorus not happening if I start audio playback using kodi "direct" interface with the remote.
EDIT it happens also without chorus. So it's an issue with audio player, it seems it want to restart playback from last position or something, but I think it shouldn't do that if I play a new unplayed album

Hi folks, I have a strange problem.
The setup is LibreELEC 11.0.6 on a Rpi5.
I use Chorus 2 web interface to control audio playback.
Now, when I start playing an album, the album does not start from the beginning (i.e. 00:00 of track 1), it seems to start playing randomly somewhere into the first or second song of the album.
This seems to happen (but I'm not sure) if I was playing another album before that I stopped playing. Shuffle mode is NOT enabled.
Apparently this happens only from Chorus not happening if I start audio playback using kodi "direct" interface with the remote.
Not sure if this is a bug or something related to my setup, I have configured also the audio profiles add-on to switch on an external USB audio interface when playing music (but I don't think it's relevant because the issue appears just with Chorus 2)
Thanks for any help or suggestions

I tried the one in the link above (the DAC is a KT0210) and works fine with LibreELEC, indeed the device show up in settings->audio (as something like 'KT analog') just after plugging in
. Thanks

Hi,
this is my first post, thank you in advance for any help or support.
I bought a Raspberry Pi 5 to upgrade from Rpi4 that is already running on LibreELEC, but, I'm a noob, I realized that there is no 3.5mm audio output on the Rpi5
.
On Rpi4 I use that output for music playback using the audio profiles add-on.
My question is, if I buy an USB audio interface (i.e. https://www.amazon.it/dp/B08Y8CZB2S?ref=emc_p_m_5_i_atc but this is just an example), something simple that do not requires drivers, will I be able to use it on Rpi5 running on LibreELEC to output music, also using the audio profiles add on?
And if so, how do I enable the sound card?
