I figured out the files were corrupted (maybe from copying). I copied again to the hdd and its working now.

I tried it with the sample and there it isn't failing. It must be something with the whole file... and both files that are failing fail nearly around 80% of playtime...
Is maybe some memory/cache running out of space?!
It didn't work with LE13 nightly "LibreELEC-RPi5.aarch64-13.0-nightly-20260126-cc05786.img" either.
I created a sample from 01:18:33 - 01:19:33. For me it fails at 01:19:03.
Here is the sample file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1y15JUZ…iew?usp=sharing
Yes its the file "Irgendwie Schwanger (2025).mkv" and the same issue is for the file "The Unforgivable (2021)". Both files play fine with VLC media player on Windows.
You think the encoding of the files if faulty? I enabled component-specific logging for video components and ffmpeg libraries. Is that what you meant? https://paste.libreelec.tv/gorgeous-parrot.log
Is there any tool to check the coding of a mkv file?
I will try the latest LE13 nightly build with this two files in the meantime.
Hello together,
today i had the second movie which crashes always at the same position and returns me ro the home screen.
I use a Rpi5 with original psu (27w) and a hdd directly connected.
debug logfile: https://paste.libreelec.tv/chief-kodiak.log.
Can anyone have a look why the movies crash?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Display MoreAm I doing something wrong?
My file is 1.5 mbs and it just lags.
Well, it does not crash and audio is not out of sync.
but it's dropping frames massively. CPU load is rather high. Frame rate goes as low as 8.
It's full HD@25 frames, Main@L4@Main
any idea?
thanks
Hello,
i am using LibreELEC 9.2.8 on a Pi 3B with a little heatsink installed on the CPU.
I tested playing HEVC movies and at around 5.5 Mbps Bitrate the thermal throtteling was activated and the movie began to stutter.
Do you have any advice or experineces whether a bigger passive heatsink (e.g. using the Flirc case) or other optimazations could help me to increase the max. playable bitrate?
Out of interest: would the usage of the Pi Model 3B+ bring a noticeable performance increase compared to the 3B?
Thanks. ![]()
