Okay, I wanted to be sure manual update was possible before I started digging in deeper.
Thanks chewitt.
Okay, I wanted to be sure manual update was possible before I started digging in deeper.
Thanks chewitt.
I'm currently running 12.0.0 on an RPi5.
My last two attempts to update to 12.2.0 have failed and when the RPi reboots after the update process the system hangs at the LibreElec splash screen.
Is the manual update from12.0.0 to 12.2.0 considered a major version change and therefore requires a re-install instead?
May I ask which specific Rpi5 mini to full size HDMI certified cable you are using?
I have found it somewhat difficult to actually find cables that spell out 4K @ 60fps. I use one that came with my CanaKit Pi5 kit but it doesn't say the certification. Thanks.
I know you have resolved this issue, but I'd just add that this type of issue has happened to me before and it has always been a DNS problem for me.
In the past, I've added a DNS entry into the LibreELEC hosts file, this has worked but not always .. and when this didn't work I had to change my SMB share configuration in KODI to use the server IP address rather than the hostname.
Cheers
Not sure what hardware you're using but LE 12.0 has been absolutely rock solid for me on RPi5.
What about adding a FLIRC to you RPi?
I use it with my Harmony remote and zero lags scrolling or button commands.
Share the drives to the network using Windows, then configure sources for them in Kodi. You will need to use authentication as on the Windows side you either share to a specific user (that you must authenticate as) or if "guest" shares are still a thing it means "any username/password can access" but you still need to access and authenticate using a username/password. I personally find it easiest to do this from the SSH console (editing /storage/.kodi/userdata/sources.xml and passwords.xml). Go read the Kodi wiki, it has all the "how to use Kodi" help you need.
This is exactly how I have my Windows 10 media server to RPi5 LibreELEC setup and it works perfectly!
Set the GUI resolution in display settings to 1920x1080 and configure the whitelist - see https://wiki.libreelec.tv/configuration/4k-hdr
so long,
Hias
That was it!
I changed the display resolution from 3840x2160 to 1920x1080 @ 60Hz and now HDMI1 input from the RPi5 is seen on power up of the AVR & Projector. I also whitelisted the recommended resolutions but the step above is what solved my particular problem.
Thank you all for your help working this through to the end.
I did not reboot between ops, so repeated the steps, still with no luck:
LibreELEC:~ # getedid delete
successfully removed edid override
LibreELEC:~ # reboot
LibreELEC:~ # getedid create
successfully installed edid override for HDMI-A-1
LibreELEC:~ # reboot
When the AVR & Projector is powered on, the initial state is still Source: HDMI1 No Signal
No error messages, commands seem to work as execute, but this doesn't fix the issue:
QuoteLibreELEC (official): 11.95.2 (RPi5.aarch64)
LibreELEC:~ # getedid delete
successfully removed edid override
LibreELEC:~ # getedid create
successfully installed edid override for HDMI-A-1
Reproducible every time for me:
1. Power on AVR & Projector (RPi is powered on already)
2. HDMI no input detected
3. Power off RPi 5
4. Power on RPi 5
HDMI video source detected.

I am seeing the same issue as OP. I have to power off the Pi5 then power it back on for it to be seen as an HDMI input by my AVR/Projector.
I have also tried edid create but this didn't resolve this, it seems to be some sort of edid problem.
The Kodi log file is showing this error:

Does this mean anything helpful?
Been using LibreELEC 12 Beta2 on a brand new RPi5 now for a couple of days and no issues at all! Great work, thank you.
Understood, thank you for the clarification.
I have a problem with my RPi 4 running LibreELEC 11.0.3 taking literally forever to scan and update new movies.
The KODI.log file shows tons of these errors:
2023-11-01 16:57:56.076 T:948 error <general>: Unable to lookup host: 'myserver-pc'
I read that the proper way to edit the hosts file to add an ip address for myserver-pc is through the storage folder. Is this correct because I don't seem to have a storage folder (attached screenshot)?
