Sorry guys there was no mention of what server software was being used other than a version number which I missed. Might have been an idea to mention NPVR in the original post.
I’ll run a scan in NPVR on Astra 28.2 over the weekend and report back.
I noticed you have 2xWinTV Nova S2s attached to an RPI4. I imagine that is a considerable current draw on the RPI4 power supply which may give erratic results under load. Not an LE issue but something you may want to bear in mind. -
Ensure you have the latest firmware for that model installed and follow these instructions https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04272112

If you look at this listing you’ll find that BBC4 HD can be found on 10818 V. Make sure your mux settings match the ones outlined here https://www.lyngsat.com/Astra-2E-2F-2G.html
-
That PC does have a boot menu. On Power Up press F9 and you have a vast selection of boot choices like UEFI Boot Sources or Legacy Boot Sources or Network Controller. The options are no different to a typical Grub menu.
-
Try the scan after 7pm. That’s when BBC4 HD starts broadcasting otherwise you’ll get CBBC channel. They share that channel.

Congrats! Windows updates feel like updating a nuclear power plant. That's why I don't use that OS anymore.
Why anyone uses it in this day and age is beyond me. I’m surprised they even released Windows 11. Must still be money to be made from it but reckon they’re flogging a dead horse.

I completely agree with a TVH helper in LE for a first time install. Makes a lot of sense particularly if both LE and TVH are installed on the same unit. No need for remote access to configure TVH and gives that integrated set top box experience.
I’m running LE on a Rock64 board with only TVH and YouTube so for daily use that TVH helper addon is ideal.
I’ll try another fresh install when I’m back at base and see if I can provide you with some helpful feedback. -
Yes I installed both LE and TVH on the same device and configured TVH with a password before installing your addon.
If your addon requires access to TVH surely it would have a facility to supply an IP address along with a user name and password for access at any stage along the lines of the PVR addon.
I could either start with a fresh LE install or remove the TVH server addon from my test setup but it will be a while till I get back at that setup. -
petediscrete - Thanks for trying. I am travelling at the moment and will be home in a few days. Can you please try again and have a look at the Kodi log file? The script has fairly verbose logging so hopefully something will show up there.
Travelling too for a week or so. I’ll grab a log as soon as I get back. Just curious why your addon doesn’t allow the user to supply the TVH server details rather than trying to auto discover it. The Config button on the addon screen remains greyed out as soon as the error message appears.

Just a follow up. Updated to latest nightly and Confluence skin remained functioning.
-
For anyone following the nightlies and using the Confluence skin which is currenly disabled, following the Github advice https://github.com/xbmc/skin.confluence/issues/223 download the skin in zip format by right-clicking on the green Code button on the top right corner of the screen. Save the zip file skin.confluence-master.zip to your PC. Unzip this file and you'll see a file named addon.xml. Open this file with a plain text editor. Move down to Line 4 of the file and you'll see the line
<import addon="xbmc.gui" version="5.15.0"/>
Edit this line to read
<import addon="xbmc.gui" version="5.17.0"/>
Save the file and zip up the folder again. Best to save it to USB stick. On your LE system insert the USB stick and go to System>Settings<Add-ons>Install from zip file.Select the zip file from your USB stick. Once completed go to System>Interface>Skin select Skin and you will see Confluene available once again to install.
While things are in a state of change you'll probably need to do this again after an update but for someone like me who's being using Confluence skin for years it's a temporary solution that works.

Apologies. Things have been mad here.
I didn't manage to get past the first hurdle. I installed the zip file and ran it. On the opening screen it states "no adapters found". In the background you can see http://123.123.123.123:9981. My tuner is a Digibit Twin Sat/IP which TVH finds no problem on 192.168.0.11:9981. Not sure where your script is searching to find the instance of TVH. Obviously I can't proceed any further.

Hello ,
i have on Rock64 SBC and several other Raspberry Pi/Pine Board,
and noticed that when i install Libreelec on Rock64,
can use TV remote out of the Box with the Unit which is very handy.
However, the Rock64 is unstable , so would like to use another SBC instead for Libreelec.
Could you please advise on what i need to lookout on specs for SBC to achieve the same with a newer SBC (compatibility with IR Remote) without need for additional devices like FLirc.
or could you advise for a good SBC with Librelec compatiblity?
Have thought of N2*plus but it is rather expensive.
The same functionality is not found when i would install Librelec on a Raspberry Pi1 or 2 or Pine64 A64 out of the box.
Thanks.
Use the Rock64 community build. Rock solid and very stable.

Just did a fresh install of the aarch64 version and all good so far. Being a long time user I’ve noticed the Confluence skin add-on is missing. Is it currently compatible with the aarch64 version.

petediscrete - Some recent experience with a tangentially related project suggests that during scanning, if new services are encountered that contain accented characters, the script has a very good chance of crashing.
Here is a new and improved version that hopefully should not crash due to this issue. It also has some logging enhancements too.
I’ll be back in the driving seat this coming week so I’ll give it a spin. Looking forward to trying it.

It eventually came down to a hardware issue, ssd v hdd performance and not an LE issue as was originally intimated. No idea what level of expertise the OP possesses but I’ve no doubt examining the logs himself or even posting them would have quickly narrowed down the problem. The devil is in the detail and the LE message PVR Manager starting in the UI and nothing else always pointed to a server/client connection issue.
I think it’s safe to say, issue resolved as far as LE is concerned. -
You’ve continued to use generic responses when describing what hardware/tuners and configuration you are using. You neither name the brand of PC nor the tuners you use so I’ll hazard a guess that it’s SSD v hard drive performance on boot. A generic reference point would be something like this https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/topic/394558-ssd-vs-hdd-boot-time-comparison#
So you clearly need adjust your network wait time as suggested above or generically as explained here waiting for all services to come online that depend on your PVR manager.
systemd-networkd-wait-online.service
Maybe do a little more research outside of LE to explain things clearer to yourself with closer emphasis on the SystemD services.
