The one test you didn’t confirm was swapping out your HDMI cable. That is usually the first item users try when faced with a hung boot. Until you do this you may find yourself in hot water making a returns claim. As you know the RPI4 is in short supply and I’ve not heard of anyone experiencing problems with their RPI4 boards but I have heard plenty report faulty HDMI cables including myself. The choice is yours.

You can never have enough speed when streaming. 4k takes up a lot of bandwidth. If you’re happy enough to stay with the Ethernet dongle setup get a usb 3 version. It will give you a speed up to 1gb and they’re not too expensive.

Try a different m3u list to rule out problems with the one you are using.

What speed is Ethernet running at through the dongle at.

Best trying from fresh instead of going to any additional expense if you don’t have to. I will suggest trying a different HDMI cable during the process if you have one. As you know all HDMI cables are not created equally. Don’t forget to use the HDMI connector nearest the power outlet on the RPI4 too. I suffered similar symptoms and in my case a replacement HDMI cable did the trick.

Seems my first instincts were partially right. Before digging into any logs I swapped out the HDMI cable that was working perfectly on the RockPro64 but not on the Rock64. Nightly on the Rock64 is now correctly identifying my TV with the replacement HDMI cable and HDMI sound is fully functioning. Strange one indeed but issue is now resolved. Thanks for your input.

I’ll make a suggestion just to see if it gets you going. Also make sure your RPI4 has the latest firmware.
Download the LE 10.0.03 again just to ensure you are getting a good image. As soon as it completes do the following
Format your SD card using SD Formatter
SD Memory Card Formatter | SD Associationwww.sdcard.orgUnpack the image file you just downloaded using 7 Zip
Finally use Win 32 Disk imager to write that image you just unpacked to your SD card.
Win32 Disk Imagerwin32diskimager.orgI’ve just completed the above steps and LE is now running on the RPI4 here.

Rock64 and RockPro64 are quite impressive. Hardware acceleration all the way up to HEVC. Wi-Fi works with external dongle. I bought five of each from a guy on one of the forums a couple of years ago for a good price too. Must have been foresight of what was to come.

Will do when I get a chance.
I reckon LE 10.0.03 on the Rock64 couldn’t successfully interrogate the TV model I have so assigned a generic HDMI device to it unlike LE 10.0.03 on the RockPro64 where the TV model was identified correctly and HDMI audio worked “out of the box”
I’m surprised others haven’t come across this issue or if they have they haven’t posted here.

Is anyone using LE 10 on a Rock64. Just need to confirm if HDMI audio out works “out of the box” or if I need to do some further configuration or change the TV I’m connecting up to. This is a mystery.

Tried the latest nightly. Still no HDMI audio output.

Just did a fresh install of the above on a Rock64 (RK3328) and no sound via HDMI. Went to System>Settings>Audio and tried all the HDMI options but nothing.
Plugged in a USB DAC and no problem with sound output. Is there any configuration file I can edit on LE using the Rock64 to resolve this.
I also have LE 10.0.03 installed on the RockPro64 and no problem with HDMI sound output.
