I finally managed to source a Digibit Twin from Germany €80 delivered. Let’s see if it arrives. I’ve heard so many positive stories about the Digibit unit I felt I had to try one. It would certainly put all those kernel/driver issues to bed for once and for all. I’ll report back once it has arrived and is up and running.

I’m suggesting you use the Pi Hat/RPI4 Combo as a streaming device. You can then stream to any device attached to you Network you like to make comparisons. I find the Raspberry Pi very limiting when it comes to playing video. Just pass the transport stream received by the Pi Hat to something a little more capable of processing the transport stream to make comparison between it and your built in setup. In fact the Pi4 is overkill. A Pi3 would be satisfactory or even a Pi Zero W as far as I know. As I suggested research other projects and you’ll see exactly what I mean.

It is what is. A project accessory and priced accordingly. It’s not an appliance module that justs works out of the box. As was suggested do a little research on it. There plenty of examples of working projects out there you could investigate and learn from. It’s obviously a good starting point for a DVBT server which you can use to serve TS to a client and let the client do all the video processing. Here’s a typical example of one.

Was trying to source a Digibit Sat/IP tuner recently. Not one to be had anywhere. The alternatives to this manufacturer in terms of price is off the wall. I’d appreciate advice on finding a source to purchase a Digibit unit.

In the meantime I run TVH with a DVBS PCIe Card on a separate unit feeding LE on a RockPro64 trouble free.

Looking at options available for LE with USB tuners is not pretty. The perceived wisdom is a separate server with your USB tuner attached feeding your LE NUC. Makes sense really. Wouldn’t take up much additional space in your cabinet either.

What player are you using when this happens.

Just checking around at reviews of this tuner. Appears it is known to suffer from the behaviour you are experiencing on other setups. Have you tested it on any other platform other than LE for stability and reliability.

I really don’t understand why users are constantly demanding the “latest” every time. Why not just use what you have and enjoy it. The next release will come along when it’s ready.

Remember all HDMI cables are not created equally. You’ve probably got one of those cheap appliance based cables used for DVD players etc that are not fussy what is thrown at them. Whatever shortcuts you take on your system don’t take one with the HDMI cable. No doubt it shorted somewhere which caused a voltage imbalance.

Sounds like a low voltage condition on your RPI4. Possibly a failing power supply that just gave up. Have you got a spare power supply you could swap in to confirm this. Ensure all peripherals are securely attached too.

In fact you could try removing everything except the power supply and the HDMI cable and boot up to see if that helps.

Did you try toggle the hardware acceleration as I suggested earlier.

I assume you used the O key on the keyboard to monitor what was being outputted by TVH to LE and watched it closely.

You did tell him where to look. In fairness a copy of the log would help. I’m curious to know what changed for this to happen.

Do you have hardware acceleration enabled in LE player

What DVBS tuner are you using.

Have you got hardware acceleration checked in LE in the Player section in Settings. Try enabling/disabling it and see what results you get.
