finally this version with the patch for the uart connector boots up just fine without the need to connect anything to the uart on my c2
great work and thanks a lot for your patience to get a working solution . Hope there is a way that this patch find its way into all future libreelec versions for the C2

sorry i have some time problems lately and therefore i am not always able to test things immedeatly. but here we go..
with a pin connected to GND of uart alone the C2 with your latest LE 12 does not boot up, same with a pin connected just to TXD it does not boot up.
but with anything just connected to the RXD Pin of the UART Console Connector from the C2, my C2 always boots up with no Problem with LE 12
hope this helps to maybe find a solution to get it boot up without the need to connect something tho RXD Pin...

GND alone i did not trey i did GND and RX without TX and GND with TX without RX ...
but i will try GND alone also and report back

thx for your finding, i have the same behavoiur with my c2 with the uart connected the c2 boots every time without any problem using the newest nightly le 12 build for the c2 from https://test.libreelec.tv/12.0/Amlogic/odroid-c2/
i tried what you suggested and my c2 boots whether i connect RX, TX and GND or just GND, TX or GND and RX it always boots up without any problem.
could i do anything more to investigate this behaviour ?

no i am sorry but up do date my c2 still just freezes when trying to boot a new le 11.06 or 12 image.
chewit seems to be quite busy with real life now, but i hope when he maybe has some more spare time again, he might just have another idea to get this running on our c2
we just need some more patience

i tried it but still the same i am not able to enter the console an run any command...

i also tried two other sd cards (one of them runs librelec 9.x and latest coreelec for c2 without any problems) but still the same it does not boot up and console is locked up
-
ok take your time no need to hurry, i am glad you try to help me
i am on windows 11 using putty for uart the c2, but if its any better i could also try it with linux and minicom...
-
hi chewitt, no i cannot run any commands at the prompt, so i assume it is indeed locked up.
btw. if i boot up this sd then a second time i just get this gibberish (what i assume is normal as the first boot up is stuck )
-
hi chewitt i am sorry, it took me some time to get the adapter an to find time to try it out, but this is what i get on first boot after writing your file from post #25 onto sd :

which adapter ca i use to do this ? something like this ?
https://www.amazon.de/gegenseitige-Konvertierung-Adapter-Multifunktions-USB-Windows/dp/B07XZ3PV8T/

thanks for you trying to help but unfortunatley it still does not work for me, i tried 4 different sc cards from sizes 2GB, 8GB, 16Gb and 32 GB. I also tried to write the image to sd card with different programms like balena etcher, rufus and libreelec writer.
nothing works for me, when i use coreelec 9.2.8 or old libreelec version 9.x.x with any of this sd cards it boots without problems
is there anything i could investigate on my side maybe to help you find a working solution ?
-
i tried this image and unfortunatley alt least for me no help, not booting up, the c2 stays with red led on and blinking led from lan port but nothing else happens...
-
i have the same problem, tried all kinds of old 2GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB SDcards but it does not boot.
chewitt also tried your newests build from your postr above but at least for me it does not help, just the red light and nothing more happens...
-
that is in fact the problem - the old path you also mentionesx no longer exists so there is no way to use this solution
i am gonna try the new le11 test builds - thanks for your help
-
there are test builds from chewitt of LE10 for S905 on odroid c2 ...
-
i am sorry i have to digg up this old thread but is this somehow also working for libreelec 10.0 as ther is no
/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/output_rgb
in the class directory ?
is there still any working solution to force rgb with libreelec 10 ?
