No relation between these keys and LE, AFAIK...

    Your absolutely correct

Thanks for your reply. Maybe, just maybe since I'm not a programmer, these particular files could be excluded when using the HW accelerator so they always make use of the software decoder. But this might be a bridge to far, I don't know.

    Thanks anyway.

There is absolutely no link what so ever.

Can anybody confirm that bluetooth is working with v1.1.0 - v.1.1.2 ?

I have TX5 Pro with QCA9377 and there are no adapters found.

output of dmesg | paste - JZeK

I believe BT was working on my box with v1.0.8 and stopped working with v1.1.0 or v1.1.1

I believe I may have fixed this however the change won't be until the next release, if you could report back then I would appreciate it.

Thanks, I don't actually have a Netflix account right now but I tried Amazon and it streamed at 576p. Would that bump up any higher if I had the widewine keys installed?

No the widevine keys are totally unrelated. the problem is there is no hardware-level decoding of Amazon/Netflix streams with Kodi... at least not for Amlogic devices anyway, I can't speak for other platforms. You may be able to bump it up to 720p but I don't know as I don't have an Amazon account, I'm sure somebody here with one will be able to answer that question more than I can.

This might be a silly question so excuse me if it is :p

I've got a KI Pro with LE9 flashed to the NAND, do I need to reinstall Android and install the Widewine keys, then flash back to LE to get HD with Netflix and Amazon? Thanks.

The problem with Netflix on Kodi is that only S/W decoding is supported, 720p should would fine.

The same files as before give the same problems. Which is; the file I sent you about a month ago and the Samantha Bee test file you also have.

If you say they will never work I will adjust my expectations.

Not every codec can be decoded by the HW decoder, I believe there are some issues with VC-1 content, I'm not sure if that was what you sent me or not as I emptied out my inbox due to being flooded with messages without looking at it properly, sorry.

Thanks a lot! Good work. Will the issue with pvr vnsi client also be solved? Now I will get the message the add-on is not compatible with this version of Kodi. Merry Christmas to everyone.

I'm not sure which issue you are referring to, the addons should not be incompatible as they was recently compiled, afl1 is the resident DVB expert for S9xx so maybe he can shed some light on it.

Which files should work (I'm curious)? Some files still don't play or play badly with HW acceleration.

You could check yourself and find out :p anyway it is using the same kernel as before so any issues is a hardware problem rather than a build problem.

A lot of the firmware/driver packages where rewritten in the jump from 1.0 to 1.1, I will look into this

I do not accept donations, LE is a culmination of the work of multiple people and I do not believe it's fair to accept them for that reason.

I get some free hardware from vendors which is reward enough for me.

I'm sorry you have pushed my patience I told you to wait until I had tested it, another few hours would not have killed you, of all the things to complain about you choose this, it's pedantic to say the least, I will not be helping any further on this issue.

I blocked everyone, not just you and I'm not the only developer to do it, I get so many requests for often simple things via PM where the answers can be found within the forums, some people are either too lazy to search or just expect me to be their personal Google Assistant.

Your far more likely to get a response in the forums than you are from me and that's why I told you to post here, I do have a life beyond LE and a full time job.

Just because I come on the forums it doesn't mean I have time to reply, most often than not I'm looking to see if a release has broken something or not.

Anyway I haven't replied because I haven't had chance to test the function personally to see if it still works just have some patience it's been less than 24hrs since you first messaged me.

GDPR-2 You can't expect a project done by 1 person in his free time and for free to be without issues and with super easy documentation, Wiki etc. Now you and afl1 joined developer team, we still don't have a wiki and installation instructions is still something I wrote.

As for DTBs the process if fairly easy to understand if you know the internals of your box. With 100s of clone boxes on the market you cannot maintain a device tree for each and every device on the market, you have to leave some homework for the users.

On the other hand I'm very happy to see members of this forum helping each other and gradually we have less and less people with installation issues. Most of them are "how do I run LE for the first time" which varies from box to box.

kszaq I never said it was without issue and I have zero expectations, my response was merely in response the constant berating by senior members of LE of all things AML which is not helping anybody and it certainly isn't helping the project.

As I said previously not everybody is as technically minded as ourselves, its impossible to expect everybody to understand the internals of their boxes and whilst I agree with you wholeheartedly that some homework and due-diligence is needed on the users part there is no central resource available for Amlogic devices in what I would call a user-friendly format.

If it is difficult to support all amlogic boxes, I would just concentrate on a number of high-quality ones (Minix etc) and make them officially supported. Rest may be supported by community builds.

The problem is not with supporting multiple devices, this can be done quite easily in a unified fashion with no need for what you are suggesting, in-fact this is what we are already doing.

The main problem with Amlogic devices is not something I can break down into laymans terms very well for the general user.

chewitt I completely disagree and such postings does nothing but discourage development on this platform, what it needs is more encouragement... not less and what you get for your $25 is great value for money... certainly way more than what you would get when comparing to the likes of the Raspberry Pi.

Whining is ok because not everybody is fortunate enough to have the same level of knowledge and understanding as some of us however I do not believe anybody has the same expectations for a $25 as say a $250 device and if they do then the correct response would be to remind them of this rather than calling them self-entitled and whiny.

Installation is as simple as burning an ISO to a USB drive... so to say it is over-complex and involves hackery is a gross overstatement, it is more simple than some of the other devices LE supports in-fact.

"install to internal" is not a high maintenance feature but that is a technical debate that I will not enter, I would say the problem is more of a lack of understanding and we are partly responsible as developers for that for not explaining it in a manner that is easy to understand. There is no wiki pages for anything pertaining to Amlogic devices just a few forum posts that do not really do the process any justice other than to confuse. A classic example would be that there is nothing that really goes into detail about which DTB to use.

The only part of your post I agree with is the kernel but it would be worth mentioning that full mainline kernel support for Amlogic devices is very near and progress can be viewed here.

All of this is going way of subject with the initial posting by the OP but the simple answer would be from my perspective it is very 50/50 with the hostility and resistance centered around Amlogic projects from some of the more senior LE developers and due to the fact that everybody seems to want to jump on the Rockchip bus.

Ok thanks, I was considering that one or the minix. Most hasslefree i guess.

But i love booting direct to libreelec. Damn it. Ok, maybe return. Even if this latest test build and with advancedsetting.xml show improvment.

My 7 year old PC AMD fusion plays everything below remux and 4k better.

Minix is very good, it's all personal preference at the end of the day, maybe a device will come out in the future that shares the same GPU and has fbdev blob we can use but personally I'm more skeptical than hopeful.

Minix is half the price as well so it all depends what you want.

I have tried using kodi app on Minix uh-9 and libreelec official builds but all stutter and framedrops and whatever for all media, 1080p and 4k. I have MInix uh 9 and oled lg 55b6 directly connected and use optical for audio. Just purchased the minix and im quite worried. Now with this build first time closing to be happy. Much is improved. Do i need to send it back since you dont recommend it? I really like libreelec and want to give my tv best picture with hdr and all.

I share your feelings on this, I spoke to kszaq about this just just a few days ago unfortunately not much can be done until we have fbdev mali blob for t820. The official response from Amlogic was they will not license these from ARM unless a customer requests it and pays the associated license fee. We have already been waiting over a year and there has been nothing yet, the only real hope we have is that another device comes out from another vendor that uses the same SoC and has the required blob and hope it is compatible.

I would recommend getting another device for now unfortunately.

GDPR-2 , did you by any chance forget to include the dvb drivers in your 1.1.2 build? At least when choosing the LibreELEC drivers addon, it complains that it cannot find any ...

afl1 made some changes after 1.1.1 to the dvb modules, I will have to check it further, usually he deals with all things dvb

    GDPR-2 where is vdr ?

    i need vdr 2.3.8

One of the vdr modules is broken in master so it can't be built just yet, CvH has made some changes to VDR which are due to go into master shortly, as soon as they do I will build the module
