I x-checked again and can confirm that I got today a possibility to change the zeroconf port in the librespot configuration GUI:

I am quite sure that yesterday evening after upgrading to LibreELEC-RPi4.aarch64-13.0-nightly-20251128-85c6ad7 the last two lines were not shown. Yesterday evening the userdata settings.xml was still the old one from a very previous librespot version, see at the beginning of this thread.

/storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.librespot/settings.xml

Whow, the release was faster than I expected:

LibreELEC-RPi4.aarch64-13.0-nightly-20251128-85c6ad7

is implementing the improvement librespot: Add setting for zerconf port #10643 .

And even better, I got it working in conjunction with my custom firewall rules.ip4:

The trick is to manually edit the setttings.xml file

/storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.librespot/settings.xml

as follows

I had librespot running with zeroconf in an older version, but this feature stopped working after some updates of libreeelec and librespot.

With mlae's advices I could nail down my librespot problem:

In /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.librespot/settings.xml I defined the zeroconf-port as follows:

still shows a random port for librespot's event handler listening on port and not the specified 55555:

I am running a custom firewall rules.v4 with currently LibreELEC-RPi4.aarch64-13.0-nightly-20251126-257c8e7. Unfortunately, my custom iptables firewall is a bit to strict to let librespot be detectable by spotify. I want to debug the dropped packets by LOG statements like

-A INPUT -p udp -j LOG --log-level warning --log-prefix "UDP DROP:"

Unfortunately, I do not get any iptables LOG messages in dmesg, journalctl -k, or kodi.log.

How can I get the iptables LOG messages?

If I flush all firewall rules, librespot is detectable, with my custom firewall it is not detectable anymore. Any hints here? Which ports need to be open?

Further tests revealed that the root cause of my problems is the addon 'Arte Mediathek' V2.0.1 from sarbes. Several other Mediathek addons are working properly. I addressed this to sarbes in another thread.

Further tests revealed that the root cause is not Kodi or Libreelec, but the addon 'Arte Mediathek' V2.0.1 originated by sarbes.

I will address this issue to sarbes in the concerning forum thread.

Seeking forward or backward is working with many other Mediathek addons.

As an additional test, I downloaded an Arte TV mediathek movie as mp4 file.

Interestingly, the fast forward is working when playing this downloaded mp4 file from an USB stick attached to the RPi4.

However, when I try to play the same movie from the Arte Mediathek addon, fast forward is not working. Playing the movie from start to end without any interrption, however, is working.

Any idea?

Currently I am failing to upload log file by 'ssh - pastekodi' . pastekodi seems not to come to an end with the upload. I need some time to get familiar with the requested procedure. I will try again tomorrow.

I added an advancedsettings.xml at /storage/.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml and then rebooted.

Half of the 4GByte RAM of my RPi4 are now allocated as cache.

Unfortunately, no change. When I try to seek, the video first freezes and then aborts after a few seconds.

When I try to seek in a e.g. an Arte 720P H264 video stream, the video first freezes and aborts a few seconds later.

I am using the latest Libreelec nightly, e.g. https://test.libreelec.tv/LibreELEC-RPi4…-ab55701.img.gz, on a RPi4 with 4GByte RAM.

Basically Kodi is running well, except seeking fast forward/backward for streamed videos. Kodi is playing video streams as long as they are not interrupted (fast-forward or pause). Fast-forward for locally stored mp4 file on my NAS is working. My monitor supports a resolution of 2440 x 1440.

I've tried several options in configt.txt, but failed to get the fast-forward working.

What is a working config.txt ?

Are there other important Kodi settings I need to check?
