Thank you I'll try that before swapping anything else.

Sorry, the fix didn't work.
When I powered on the Pi this morning I was still met with the Choose Device, Choose OS, Choose Storage screen.
I will remove the USB SSD drive and use the SD card.
Then if that doesn't work change: BOOT_ORDER=0xf14 to: BOOT_ORDER=0xf41
And try the SD for a while then swap that out for the SSD.
Could it be an issue with the Bootloader EEPROM 2024-04-15
Or the VIA USB3 Firmware: 000138c0
Both showing as up to date in LibreELEC settings.

The edit worked.
I will reboot later (Pi is currently in use) and keep an eye on it.
Many thanks for your help with this.

I get the following error
LibreELEC:~ # rpi-config-eeprom -e
-sh: rpi-config-eeprom: not found -
LibreELEC (official): 12.0.0 (RPi4.aarch64)
LibreELEC:~ # vcgencmd bootloader_config
[all]
BOOT_UART=0
WAKE_ON_GPIO=1
POWER_OFF_ON_HALT=0That's all I get.

Thank you for your help with this.
What do you have BOOT_ORDER set to?
Sorry no idea, how do I check?
Have you removed the USB drive when testing with sdcard?
Yes & vice versa.
The SD card was the one I used before moving over to SSD for dual boot, it worked fine without issue.
The SSD worked fine for months up until recently.
When at the network boot screen, it says "Press ESC to cancel and go to diagnostics screen" who does diagnostic screen show?
(if keyboard is not connected on boot, I believe it goes directly to diagnostics screen).
When I pressed escape the Pi rebooted & LibreELEC booted up fine, I never saw a diagnostic screen.

I run LibeElec on a RPi 4 from a USB connected SSD drive.
Recently I have started seeing the remote OS install screen as below:
I'm running the latest nightly build LibreELEC-RPi4.aarch64-12.0-nightly-20240426-4513878
When I exit the above screen LibreElec boots as normal.
How can I diagnose the issue?
-
Excellent, I'll give a go over the weekend and report back.
Thank you.
-
That's excellent thank you for the heads up.
If I backup my originals of the files you linked to and I get major issues can I just copy over my originals again?
-
Thank you for the info.

That's excellent thank you for the info.
Does this happen on Pi 5 too?
-
Is there anything else I need to provide to try and resolve this issue?

I have another file that causes the above issue.
What duration of video file should I post and where can I post it to?
EDIT: Kodi Log Uploader now found on repo.
I'm using the latest nightly build: LibreELEC-RPi4.aarch64-12.0-nightly-20240406-4b7642d
Here is my log file: https://paste.kodi.tv/xuzarejaqo
Video sample to follow as soon as I find somewhere to upload it.

I'm running the latest nightly build on my RPi4 without major issue.
One thing that is bugging me though is the appearance of the play icon ►next to every folder with a viewed item in it.
I've searched the settings but can't find any way to disable it, is there any way to remove it?

Hi ian,
i am using the Rii x8 since a long time on 2 PI`s.
Comes with USB Dongle and with a changeable Accu
Recharging can be done with a Micro-USB cable and a full battery lasts for many weeks
I really like it !
You can buy it e.G. on Amazon and it is pretty cheap.
You can also get it with different Keyboard layouts:I purchased one of these and my wife is very happy with it apart from the scroll wheel which is not working in kodi on the Pi.
Is there anywhere in the OS that I need to enable it?
-
On what LE version? - Logs? - Sample file?
I'll get the info requested.
Whilst I agree with chewitt about the extra info needed I have seen this and I know exactly why in my case. I only see it on videos that have been initially recorded from TV to VCR tape, then from VCR tape to DVD then from DVD to HDD for Kodi.
Ah, mine is only on PVR .ts files converted to .MKV
