Huh, I can't edit my post. Anyway, hopefully this will be approved before you have to respond.

Found https://zanevaniperen.com/kb/0015-force-…lec-pulseaudio/, with a link to a helpful forum post as well.

After a bit, got Kodi switched over to Pulse and working (at least, GUI sounds, not sure about pass-through). Then had to manually edit the snapclient service file to get it to start up, and apparently connected to Pulse, and connected to my snapserver. Unfortunately, no audio output :(

I'll have to pick back up on this later unfortunately. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Probably bad HDMI connection, can't detect the display properties.

    Try another cable, another port...

So not sure exactly. I had it flashed with the latest 11.x, started up fine on HDMI0, and audio/1080p/etc. Flashed with 12.x but this time used HDMI1 port, worked fine too *shrug*

Also, strangely, seems to be running 6.6 kernel. My other install I had, 11.x, upgraded to 12.0.1, it's running 6.11 I think. What gives? Shouldn't 12.0.1 install with the newer kernel?

Now time to figure out how to use pulseaudio or pipewire...I want to be able to run Snapclient & switch back and forth to the play video/etc without having to reboot after enabling/disabling Snapclient, that sort of thing. Any good guides you know off hand for that before I try and find a good one? I've done some searching, but haven't been able to find one that makes things clear.

So I'm trying the latest nightly on x86 using Generic (Celeron n4020, Gemini Lake which has 10-bit HEVC decode block), but seems like HDR -> SDR tone mapping isn't going to be available/support in near-term for Kodi v20 or LibreElec on the device before sending to the TV, is that correct?

So I installed the Snapclient from the LibreElec Add-On repository, was excited that an official Add-On was there! However, it doesn't work. Audio doesn't play, and the service appears to keep bouncing on/off/on/off.

Logging in via SSH, I find this error from the current STDOUT for the Snapclient bin.

    Code
Controller::onException: Can't open hdmi:CARD=PCH,DEV=0 PCM device: Device or resource busy

I selected the HDMI output (my receiver is hooked up to Kodi that way, wanted to play audio through it), which is what Kodi is set to use. How do I get Kodi/LibreElec to play nice and output audio? Should I go and install PulseAudio add-on or what not?

I'm Linux savvy, but unfamiliar with the specifics of how LibreElec/Kodi runs things under the hood, only ever used it as a media player/front end.
