Thank you - not looking to turn off the drives completely using io - had not thought of that actually.... I have not seen the drives go into a low power mode as they do with my windows machines. I will checking it out more - thanks.

Powering off USB drives attached - any way to do that? I normally use a network connection, but have a different application with usb attached local drive which is not used for long periods of time - I would like to not have to worry about teaching users to manually turn off the drive, or the system.
