Currently it has the original Android and is very slow.

I remember that an year ago i've tried to boot libreelec with Kodi with multiple variants of boot images / dtb's using either USB sticks of microSD cards, but no success.

Any hints on what image should i use ? Is the 2GB RAM + 16 GB storage version.

So, the purpose is to boot and install libreelec with Kodi on baremetal.

So the 26 USD boxes like Vontar H96 MAX RK3318 may raise struggles while finding the correct .dts file and many other issues ?

I want to buy a cheap box to run Libreelec with Kodi, but i don’t want to have surprises, not to be able to boot from USB etc.

What i want is the cheapest ( 4 GB RAM is enough ? ) to play 720p and 1080p from Kodi streams but to be able to boot and install a libreelec image with no problems ( almost out-of-the-box ).
