Can it be fixed?
It's up. Jernej, will OTA updates be available for Allwinner?

Friend of mine bought OrangePi PC but it's older revision model, v1.2. On Sunxi page it says that v1.3 has thinner memory chips than v1.2, will that make any practical difference in running LE?
I have Orange Pi PC so I'll do reporting for it. It's already rock stable and worthy of official status. Tnx for your hard jernej for making all this possible.
Great to see Allwinner will be officially supported in LE10. Are all devices listed on the first page going to be supported?
Great to see Allwinner support is coming, great job.
Lewis Changes were already merged few hours ago so next nightly image should have all fixes. Anyway, I'm still interested if it works for you or not.
Tested 20200724 nightly image over the weekend without a single issue. Menus are not disappearing, no green screens, nothing. Great job jernej, many tnx. I think I'll repurpose more Opis with LE for family members, it's production ready.
Lewis Please test this update: LibreELEC-H3.arm-9.80-devel-20200719123645-ddd7a12-drmfix.tar
it should fix disappearing menu and green screens in all configurations.
Tnx jernej, will try it as soon as I come back home.
No, nothing is merged yet, but I have working patch already. I probably also discovered reason for green frames - also DRM driver issue. I didn't know about these issues because I always tested on 4k @ 30 Hz where it seems to work fine. However, if I switch to 1080p @ 60 Hz, then I'm able to reproduce these two issues quiet easily.
Strange, I decided to try LE on my main 1080p @ 60 Hz TV to see will it be the same thing as on old Samsung TV but in these 2 days of testing everything is working flawlessly, no menu disappearing, no green screens, CEC is recognized out of the box (on Samsung it doesn't work). I would say it's on pair with official LE 9.2.3 for Raspberry Pi 3.
Lewis I reproduced the issue and I already know what is the problem. I'll take a look how to properly fix it in following days, but for quick fix you can execute:
during playback, when issue appears.
Thanks jernej, this was super fast. Have you already included the fix into the latest nightly because on my main 1920x1080 Toshiba TV everything works great without any issue. Haven't tried it on the old Samsung TV.
Yeah, I saw such issues when there was a bug in display driver when using more than one plane. In this case video is one plane and GUI overlay another. For some reason overlay plane gets clipped to the visible size of video plane.
Can you tell me more about your setup? What is your display resolution and refresh rate? What is the frame rate of the videos which can cause this issue? Board is OrangePi PC, right?
Display is a Samsung TV, 1280x720, 60 Hz. Vids are usual 24/25 FPS, nothing fancy. I grabbed media info screens from MPC, hope it helps. Yes, I have Orange Pi PC.
This sounds like display driver issue, more specifically DE2 driver. I'm aware of one unfixed issue but it shouldn't be visible like this. I would need to reproduce it to figure it out...
Sometimes it happens after a few minutes, sometimes it takes longer. I made some photos to show what's happening. First photo is 4:3 vid, second a movie and on third pic only thing that cn be seen after I scroll through menu.
Hi everyone, first I want to say thanks to jernej for his amazing work on this project. After using Armbian on all of my trusty old Opi PCs for ages I decided to repurpose one of them and try LE on it. Impressions: Boot was super fast, menus are smooth, cpu runs very cool, never exceeded 53 degrees. Playback is great most of the time with some green screens here and there but the strangest thing is that video menus disappear on non 16:9 vids after some time. For example, on vids with vertical bars (4:3 ratio) portion of menus that go beyond black bars are not visible but parts of title and menu that runs over area where video is running are still there while on movies which have horizontal bars title and menus are not visible at all. Guess this is issue with lima/mesa.
