    Hi smp,

    Thanks for your reply :)

In your Friday's post, you talk about AMD GPU VEGA :

"2. AMD APU with Vega graphics (e.g. Athlon 200GE). Asrock DeskMini A300 should be a good platform for that."

    but... It seems that :

AMD GPU Radeon™ Vega 3 is integrated only in APUs Ryzen family Series, (core Raven Ridge or Picasso)

and .. not in AMD APU Athlon Series like the 200 / 220 GE, (core Raven Ridge)

But, following your test, my 4K rush plays fine on your AMD 200GE box,

So, what about the following list of commands for my new Platform ? :

Do you think all will match OK ?

    BOX : Asrock DeskMini A300

CPU / GPU (AM4 Socket) : AMD Athlon 220GE 3,4Ghz (Core Raven Ridge)

    CPU / GPU COOLING FAN < 46MM for AMD AM4 socket :

Question: Is the Cooling fan already in the AMD CPU / GPU package ? (Like on Intel CPU package)

if NOT, what model would be OK ?

CHIPSET : AMD-A300 (already on MB)

    RAM (max 64) 2*4 Gb DDR4 SO-DIMM 2400 Dual-channel no-ECC 260 pins

SSD Sata 6GB/s: What size do you think useful to install LibreELEC ? (alone)

LibreELEC : Last Generic Version will be OK ?

Many THANKS for your kind help !!

    Best regards from France

    Jean-Max

    Hello,

I uploaded to DROPBOX a very short 4K rush coming for my Sony Camcorder (30 sec, 385 MB)

(Nb: Rush made in 2017 during my very early first test of this camcorder)

This is the link in text mode to allow download, otherwise... it try to play.. :

Nb: I never used DROPBOX, so, if you cannot download the 4K rush, tell it me : I will try to understand something in the DROPBOX sharing setup ..

If you can download the rush, can you tell me if the reading is OK on your platform with LibreELEC (and what platform) ??

    Thanks for all :)

    Jean-Max

Is it going to be a LibreELEC-only box? There are better and cheaper options.

    1. Anything with Intel Gemini Lake SoC (e.g. Celeron J4105).

    2. AMD APU with Vega graphics (e.g. Athlon 200GE). Asrock DeskMini A300 should be a good platform for that.

Thanks smp for your reply :)

    YES , LibreELEC only

Actually, I have OpenELEC only installed on SSD, in my 2 Media players to play my personal videos :

    - Zbox AD10 with CPU AMD E-350 Dual core 1,66 + integrated GPU AMD Radeon HD 6310 DX11 + RAM 4Go ddr3 1333

    - Zbox HD-ID11 with CPU Intel Atom D510 1.66 + GPU Nvidia Next Gen. ION2 512 + RAM 4Go ddr2 800

I just have a look to Asrock Deskmini A300 :

Good size for my HT install rack : 150*150*80mm

No integrated GPU present, so I must install a CPU+GPU in one integrated chip :

AMD Athlon 200GE is in the Asrock list :

    ASRock > DeskMini A300 Series

But .. 200GE is no more sold France .. it's replaced by AMD Athlon 220GE or 3000G

    Question:

For 4K video playing under LibreELEC, do you think Asrock Deskmini A300 with AMD Athlon xx

    will be better than :

ZOTAC ZBOX MI660 nano with CPU Intel Core i7-8550U + integrated GPU Intel HD Graphics 620 ?

Thanks for yous info, ideas and .. experiences :)

Does the camcorder record 4:2:0 or 4:2:2?

    Intel GPUs only hardware accelerate 4:2:0 h.264 and h.265 - not 4:2:2.

What frame rate is the video - as that can also play a part with h.264 on some platforms If you have a clip you can dropbox I can test it on a couple of boxes.

    Hi Noggin,

So you can see that my Sony 4K rushes are in 4.2.0, 25 fps and H-264 (MPEG-4 AVC)

Intel UHD Graphics 620 GPU could decode these videos under LibrELEC Generic last version ?

Can-I send 30 Sec of one of my 4K rush (30 Sec = 500 Mo..) to DROPBOX (or similar)

and copy here the download link ?

    Thanks for all :)

    Jean-Max

Thanks Noggin for your reply :)

Yes, I know that Intel HD600 series GPUs/VPUs support UHD/4K resolution

(Intel UHD Graphics 620 is "4K native" following Intel docs)

    My question is :

-> Does last Generic version of LibreELEC has good drivers to play 4K on this graphic chip ?

Nb: HDR is actually not my priority..

I want only play my personal 4K videos: My 4K Sony Camcorder creates MP4 videos with :

    Video codec : H.264 / MPEG-4 AVC

Audio codec : Linear PCM / AAC

    3840 x 2160

    150 Mbps max

    Thanks for all !

    Hello,

Today, I just discover LibreELEC : So : Hello Everybody !

To replace my old Zotac Zbox Nano AD10 (AMD fusion) + Openelec generic, which cannot read 4K,

I am interested by a Zotac ZBOX MI 660 Nano which is 4K native :

    CPU : Intel I7 8550U 1,8Ghz 8th generation

GPU : Intel UHD Graphics 620 (integrated)

    QUESTION:

Do you know if last LibreELEC generic 9.2 can use the Intel UHD Graphics 620 for 4K playing ?

Thanks for your ideas, info and experiences
