For the LAN issue, please login over SSH and execute these commands:

    Code
    rm -rf /storage/.cache/connman/
    reboot

This will reset your network configuration (including WiFi passwords) and should fix LAN not working after a reboot.

If it doesn't work, force loading Ethernet kernel module:

    Code
    echo stmmac > /storage/.config/modules-load.d/stmmac.conf

Thank you for the quick fix!

Reseting the configuration fixed it only partially for me. After reboot I had network, but only DHCP. As soon as I configured the network manually again, the problem came back.

Force loading the kernel module seems to fix it definitely, thought.

Automatic updates are not working in my box. It detects the update and tries to download the file, but it seems that somehow fails to correctly download it (it downloads about 90Mb out of 123Mb).

I was able to manually download the file to the .update folder and update without problems, though.

Maybe one download was interrupted and it was not able to continue it afterwards because the file already existed? Didn't try it...

Thanks again for your help. I tried Keymap Editor (I'm using a USB mouse to operate): when I press a key on the remote, is not recognized by the system. No one key. That is way no remote.conf produce any sign of life. It seems like that when LibreElec starts, the IR interface is not active. How can I test if the remote is producing any input..?

You should be able to see some message in dmesg when pressing buttons.

In the link of my previous post are some examples.

..thanks, I know...but I prefer a standalone system...and it is a matter of making a point: it HAS to work...I'm getting mad at this..

It will be actually standalone once you have configured the remote at your liking with key map plugin. In the end is like creating your own remote.conf from scratch, given that the incorrect one that is in your box has the correct factory code.

Other alternative will be creating it from scratch as described in this thread:

Thank you, very interesting 3d..I tried a couple of remot.conf for OTT MXQ...but again, no sign of life from my remote..I'm putting them using the LAN in smb://libreelec/configfiles/ ...which I understand is the right place. What is strange, is that I was able to retrieve the remote.conf from Android...and that one should work...btw, is very similar to all the others...am I missing something here?

If nothing else works, you can always use yatse or kodi remote from your smartphone and install key map editor plugin in kodi. You can then configure the remote as you like.

Have been running version 7 and decided to upgrade to v8 but every time I do it hangs on the Libreelec splash screen after installing.
I have it installed on SD card btw.

I think it may be just a known bug regarding the add-on database when updating.

Try to ssh your box and delete the file .kodi/userdata/Database/Addons27.db. After reboot it should be fine, although you may need to reinstall some plugins.

I had the same problem updating Libreelec on a Raspberry Pi and that fixed it.
