FYI I was wrong about my device not seeing 5ghz WiFi networks, I have rescanned the WiFi networks withing LibreElec and I can see 5ghz networks. Also my device MiniMC V1 (2G / 16G) according to Gearbest where I purchased it from, is also known as the MiniMX-G V1.1 . I say this becasue I opened the case and the sticker on the board reads MiniMX-G V1.1 .

So the WiFi driver for Dual band Ampak AP6330 wifi chipset is indeed included in the build. The correct DTB for this device already exists in Kszaqs device trees folder for the 006 build, I can see 2G RAM and dual band WiFi using this DTB, I havent confitmed that the ethernet is correctly detected as 1Gb but the ethernet is definitely working,.

I already own a S905 box with 2g RAM and 16g Flash, S905x doesnt add enough features to make it worth considering, only VP9 and some other codec support, which I dont use currently. I will probbaly wair for the S912 to become more known and see how it perfroms and develops, so far it's benchmarks are poor not much better than S905/S905x also all current Amlogic chips are limited to 1.5ghz not the 2ghz claimed speed including the S912.
So theres no real benefit for me purchase a device at the minute.

Regarding the WiFi issue I posted earlier on a MiniMX V1 2G/16GB , i.e: WiFi only picking up 2.4ghz networks and niot 5ghz networks, also shows no other WiFi networks in my area other than my own 2.4ghz network , the device is 1 metre away from my wireless router which is also advertising a 5ghz network .

A scan on any other device reveals there are several 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks in my area. So there's 2 issues, 1. the WiFi antennas on the MiniMX must be extremely poor that they cant pickup several WiFi networks in my area, that other devices i.e: my phone, laptop, etc can all see without issue.

2 The miniMX is not seeing 5ghz networks, is there drivers missing or is the device tree incorrect.

I found that the WiFi chipset in the MiniMX V1 is the AMPAK AP6300, does anyone know if correct drivers are present in le 006 LE Build ?

" The AP6330 chip is made by AMPAK. It supports 802.11a/b/g/n (no 11ac), BT 4.0, and FM. It has a Broadcom BCM40183 BT module and a Broadcom BCM4330 Wifi module. "

Can anybody with a Minimx 2g/16g confirm whether they have 5ghz WiFi running properly on the 006 build ?

I have the 006 build running on SD card on a minimx 2g/16g I don't seem be seeing 5ghz WiFi networks 2.4ghz works fine. This device has a dual bandv2.4ghz/5ghz WiFi card on board.

This is the only flaw I can see with getting these cheap boxes. Any idea what the cause is? Seems like its kernel since people have been reporting this on Android as well. Which i guess AML does not want to fix.

I'm not sure if it is the kernel, otherwise would not all S905 based devices suffer from the same issue ? Are users of Odroid C2, Weteks etc also reporting the same issues after the fix mentioned ? If other devices do not have this issue, is there some sort of patch or kernel tweak that they have applied to resolve the issue ?

Currently I only power up my box when I watch stuff, I then switch it back off, I also have 2Gb RAM so I havent really had issues with this bug as my box is never on long enough for the RAM to fill up. But you can still see the memory increasing with every video thats played and not releasing.

You should be able to use OTA to update. I just parted with my MiniMx and it updated using that method.
I did not have the the Beelink Branded box. I had the plain MiniMx.
    Dont know if this helps.

I found the dtb device tree for the MiniMX V1 2gb/16gb in the folder Kszaq has linked in the first post, now back up and running after following instructions properly.... Yes I also have the plain MiniMX there is no beelink branding on the box.

Looks to be working well so far in the brief test I ran, I only have a 1080p TV so cant test 4K content. Looks like the memory usage creeping up after watching video/using addons is still present hopefully this can be fixed in future builds.

Remote working fine, ethernet and WiFi both working, although WiFi on these boxes is poor, doesnt even see my 5ghz network...even though it has a dual band WiFi card onboard in the box.

Regarding the memory issue with RAM filling up I found this on the kodi forum from wrxtasy, seeming to suggest that this is a Kodi memory leak issue ? he also suggests it has been fixed, but where is the fix ?

trogggy Wrote: 2. There does seem to be an advantage to 2GB at the moment if you're running an ELEC variant on a cheapo amlogic box. People with 1GB devices are reporting freezes / out of memory problems. That's down to bugs / software not optimised though.

This is very likely fixed as the 2GB C2 running LibreELEC and the RPi has been having issues. See the GPU thread in RPi sub forum. Looks like a Kodi memory leak issue both with Jarvis and Krypton.

Any references to Kodi crashing due to device RAM size are starting to look false.

Your right it is all in the first post ! Rookie mistake, failure to read instructions ! Now I just have to track down 107L1 android firmware for the MiniMX V1 2GB / 16GB , the baidu links from freaktab are broken, I have 106L1 thats not the latest version though.

I'll check the thread where people have uploaded their device trees to see if anyone has already uploaded it.

EDIT: Fixed, I'm all up and running again, I followed the instructions from the first post as pointed out by trogggy, found the DTB device tree file for my box in the folder Kszaq has linked in the first post, copied it to SD card (renamed as dtb.img), rebooted with toothpick method and everythings back up and working. :)

Hi all, I have just updated from 005 build running on SD card to 006 build by copying img.gz to update folder and rebooting. This results in box not being able to boot from SD card stuck on original boot screen (not LibreElec boot screen, but the manufacturer teddy bear wlcome screen). If SD card is removed box boots to original Android OS on NAND without an issue. Does this mean that the Device Tree for my box is missiing/incorrect ??

    Beelink MiniMX V1 - 2gb RAM / 16Gb Flash

I was able to use the update method previously without any issue, i.e: I updated from a previous build to 005 by copying image.gz to the update folder and this worked fine.
