Have posted on the Kodi forums and they think the problem is with LE rather than the addon or Kodi.

Ok finally got it to happen with debug logging turned on, would appreciate if someone could take a look and let me know what they think, I have included all of the logs between pressing stop and then pressing exit before I had to restart the system, the full debug log is over 100MB:

Ok, it is just that I never had this issue when I was running Libreelec on a RPi3 so thought it might be related to upgrading to the RPi4. Struggling to get a crash log of when it happens. Wife complains about the CPU usage meter overlay when I turn it on. Has just happened again now though and the last lines from the Kodi log are:

Having a strange issue where the system hangs when i stop Live TV playback. Doesn't happen all the time, maybe once in ten times. System just hangs with a blank screen, have left it over night and still just sits there with a black screen until I hard reboot. I don't get a crash log so system is not detecting a crash I guess. Using RPi4 with Next PVR addon.
