Personally I would perform a fresh install of LE9 to clear away any OE rubbish that may be lying around.
However, if you want to try and upgrade just place the gz file in the .update folder and reboot.
Thanks. Got message "Your System (FAT) partition is too small for this update and there is not enough space for the update to be installed".... guess fresh install is the way to go.
Hi,
I updated from openelec to libreelec last year which updated my setup to version 8.2.5. Now I don't see the option to update to version 9.0 using the settings menu as the libreelec tab is missing. I can't seem to find a .tar file for manual update either. 
. Can anyone advise a workaround other than a fresh install (just to save the hassle)..
Platform - Windows (Intel NUC)
Libreelec version - 8.2.5 (updated from Openelec using the stock update from libreelec site)
Skin - Confluence
