I found a good deal on Banana Pi M2+ is there anything speaking against this board? It looks ok, but I have absolutely no experience with bananas.

I was under the impression that the AXPs have an or1k inside but not sure where then the FW would be...

jernej is this also true for the A64 with an AXP PMIC, and by extension of that also A10/20/33 etc.

wifi/bt no working, dtb or missing driver issue?
AP6236
BCM43436B0
As BCM43/CYW43 are usually very well supported, I guess it's a dtb issue, but without further info it's hard to guess. -
I just got an OrangePi 3 and RPI 4 arriving in the same day
Anyone know is the H6 faster than the BCM processor the RPI 4 has?
Seems out of the box RPI has better support but will test more later.
on paper pi 4's cortex a72 cores should be faster, but H6 has jernej and friends, so its your choice

It seems that Mali causes system lockups if it doesn't run on lowest setting... I'll need to investigate this further.
how far away do you think panfrost is for H6?

I'm having an s912 box collecting dust i tried the other elec with it but I have to say I'm not impressed. With 3.14 it limps ahead, stability is far from what I'd call so. My only chance is mainline with panfrost period. 3.14 might work for 905 but not for ALL AML boxen.
So please stop the FUD and appreciate what the devs are doing in their scarce spare time. Or use what better fits your needs, but let us enjoy the world revolve regardless there's an ancient 3.14 rotting alive some place out there.

It means nothing will change for the time being. We considered releasing alpha and maybe beta (but not stable!) 9.2 images for Allwinner project, but there are simply too many corner cases which don't work well or not at all. First stable images are considered for LE 10. Hopefully we can fix most or preferably all bugs till then.
Great, I wasn't really sure if that would affect the nightlies as well.
So no problem at all. Thanks

There are different opinions in this world I have to accept this.

What does this statement by chewitt mean for our SBCs?

Just as a general note for people. The team has made a decision not to release Amlogic (and Allwinner) images as part of LE 9.2 which is currently being built and will see an ALPHA1 release this week. Amlogic mainline has several outstanding technical decisions related to boot and Panfrost has some critical bugs that developers simply haven't had time to look at properly due to current work and family commitments. The summer vacation season is also about to start - so the last thing we need is a bump in user numbers while people resources are lighter. There are also large changes pending for Linux 5.3 which will be beneficial (G12 devices running at full clock speed will be great) and this also means a load of device-tree rework and testing effort. So instead of spending lots of time trying to support a Linux 5.1 based LE 9.2 release with a load of complex backporting work, the mainline codebase will make better progress with less effort if we concentrate upon the master branch where we can shift focus to Linux 5.3 where more changes are upstream and the amount of commit/patch juggling reduces.
As I ended up being release manager for LE 9.2 and I'm also one of the people with too many work commitments, the final plumbing changes needed to start master nightlies and push add-ons will have to wait until the dust settles on the first LE 9.2 alpha. NB: VIM3 users with a shiny new board will be catered for one way or another .. no need for anyone to panic about that.

Shoog I hope you are kidding - 3.14 in 2019... Who will keep the security patches coming? Amlogic?

Had to cancel as the seller wanted to increase the shipping costs by a factor of 4... Let's see what will be next. First time ever something like this on Aliexpress.

I did a bit of a research regarding H6 STB functionality. From what I can see, exactly the same image can be used on all of them, including TX6 mini. They have only few, small differences which are not important at this stage.
If you can find detailed PCB image and Android image for that box (to extract DT), I can tell you more, but there shouldn't be any surprises.
I'm then pretty much ddecided ordering one to extract dtb and taking pics. Will let you know once I triggered the order.
15 to 22 days till delivery...

Are tanix tx6 and tx6 mini most likely compatible?
Both seem to be based on H6 with DDR3 RAM.
Serms like the mini lacks an external wifi antenna (useless with pcie wifi or rtl wifi) and seems ro be 2GB/16GB only.
I'm about to get a TX6 mini if chances are high that we (rather only jernej i fear, as much as we normal mortals try to help and to hack around, sorry ) can get that one to work, or is it much safer getting the 4GB version instead?

we installed quite lots of hdmi cables, mostly long runs, and various hdmi extenders (over RJ45) on board aircrafts. Those were always flaky and reducing the max resolution of the source usually helped a big deal, as this lowers the signal's bandwidth and thus max. frequency. So its not just black and white.
I don't know much about the H6 hdmi phy but back in time there was a lot of talks about cable equalisers and such stuff regarding the equipment we had at that time. So it seems well possible, that in the future some better understanding of the config registers might help with suboptimal cables on H6 and probably others too

Well - blow me down with a feather!
Changing HDMI cable did the trick. Does anyone know why the other HDMI cable works with Amlogic and Rockchip boxes but not with Allwinner?
I'm having about 4, 5 HDMI cables from various sources. Some work with pi others with s912 even others with h3 but not a single one works with all of them including CEC. But I have to admit that Samsung TV and br-player are less critical on the cables than Chinese tv boxes and (UK) SBCs...

Still same I'm afraid:-
U-Boot SPL 2018.11-g7702a7c-dirty (Jun 12 2019 - 22:54:17 +0100)
DRAM:
Just to be sure - I am reverting the previously applied patch before applying the new one. Is that correct?
I guess so, as all patches always patch some of the same lines, so you can't apply them all together...

ukmark62 I found few differences. Can you please test http://sprunge.us/pcxdsq ? I promise I'll wait for my own box for next test.
How do you find those differences? I mean compared to what?
