TX6 is a nice and what's most important very affordable device, when it works. However, multiple revisions and versions complicate things a lot. I can't get the one I have (TX6-A) to output any sound via HDMI and detect the proper resolution (tried with multiple displays/TVs) without forcing an edid file. They also tend to overheat (mine doesn't even show cpufreq), due to poor airflow, upside-down board placement and tiny radiator.

Maintainer of Armbian H6 community buildssuggested "different DTB" which is not much help, since my device has the same problems both with LE and Armbian.

So, all the builds I've been testing for a couple of month won't detect the correct resolution neither connected to the Full-HD display through HDMI-DVI adapter, nor to HD-ready TV directly. 1024x768 max. Is it possible to force 1080p somehow? The issue persists on Armbian as well.

And now it's more or less clear. I didn't know LE doesn't support swap, so It wasn't clear for me why is ZRAM module disabled in LE kernels. Thanks for the clarification. Now it's interesting to know why swap is unsupported.

Regarding memory consumption. On OPi One build I mostly hit memory constraints while trying to install/use plugins, not on playback.

I understand, I just figured zram is a standard linux feature and I don't know of any reason for it to be excluded in LE builds (is there any?). It's not enabled by default so it won't affect anyone, but it might be beneficial for many users, even with >512MB ram.

I'm a user, not a developer, so I may personally not be able to build an image, but I'll give it a try.

I'd gladly test it if it was included in the kernel. Could you enable zram module for H3 nightly builds (is there a reason for it to be excluded)? lz4 is very CPU-efficient so there might be a real benefit.

Ok, so I can't get it to reliably detect the correct resolution for my display I'm testing on (TV 1366x768). LE detects max 1024x768 and my TV says it receives the signal in "DVI" mode, rather than "HDMI".

Is it a problem with the display or maybe hdmi cable?

Latest nightlies for OrangePi PC boot and work well enough on OPi One except HDMI sound, which doesn't work at all.

Can't get to working ssh on OrangePi One. Freezes at different points of booting, usually at Libreelec splash, sometimes it gets to Kodi wallpaper, rarely to black screen with a mouse pointer (dead). U-boot stage works fine. Tried two memory cards with same results, both not brand new, unfortunately.

Of course it's power. Turns out what's enough for running headless NixOS doesn't work with HDMI output enabled. It boots fine now, playback works great, experienced some Kodi restarts while background scanning smb share. Seems OrangePi One is too slow for use with additional add-ons.
