you can install LE to just a partion but not via the installer, just have a look how multiboot works
nothing too problematic

my last info to it told that it won't work properly because VBox missing drivers at Linux
you can use VMare Player for example
2 years old but likewise still correct
Next question - is it "dangerous" to delete the stuff from /storage/.kodi/addons/packages
nope, its just a cache to avoid redownloading a addon if you want to reinstall it
also should be fixed as it is super annoying and contradicts participation in this forum
We get blasted by all kind of bots and chinese, indian, ...human spam bots. So we have some strict limitations for new users, otherwise this is not manageble. The amount of posts you need till you have free reign is rather low, so its just a bit annoying at the very beginning.
As such a s905x3 is much cheaper than hardware grabber parts for my raspberry setup (and also doubles ram+more powerful soc) I guess I rather invest in a newer device than in the extra grabber hardware.
CE still uses the old drivers and afaik its already EOL there, LE uses there also GBM -> no Hyperion support till someone adds it at Hyperion.
Just saying, the driver support for AML is MUCH worse compared to RPi. So you can't directly compare it.
What I don't quite understand is the hyperion function broken for every device that can run LibreELEC or is it only about the raspberries?
Hyperion does only support the "old way" of rendering (X11, old RPi graphic pipeline).
With the change to Wayland and or GBM Hyperion is generally not working anywhere anymore for grabbing stuff. This needs to get supported at Hyperion otherwise you need to stay at >2 year old setups.
And to be honest, it does not look too promising

The HTPC is a regular PC with an AMD Athlon 200GE APU.
This known to be troublesome, you could try the LE11 generic legacy image if it makes any difference (different gpu backend).
I also tried it on two other PCs (Ryzen 7 with Vega 64 GPU, Ryzen 5 with nVidia 1070 GPU - the legacy build) - always a boot loop.
this should work with the legacy build (nvida isn't supported by the normal one), pls share any logs otherwise no real way to help
you can try to boot from usb stick and have a look if a "fresh" system would work, also possible that some addon is crashing or similar
11.0.2 will be skipped and LE11.0.3 is the the way to go
normally we just rebuild internally but this time too much time was passed due low activity summer period
11.0.3 just adds a kernel bump to 11.0.2
for generic-x86_64 it should be possible, for everything else not really without breaking
if I remember correctly thew N270 can just handle SD H264 or DVD everything else won't work. Depending from "where" your stream it there might be problems if you use a very old OS version.
You can run Windows 10 at it, it is horrible slow but still comparable to the XP Performance - if you have at least 2GB RAM
Otherwise get some 50€ refurbished pc from ebay, its much faster.
How do i use "the library" function?
Adding the videos to the library scrapes all the information's one time and stores at at kodi, so it just opens the remembered link and thats it.
Adding video sources - Official Kodi Wiki
so you end up with something like that
Open my folders (quite a lot of files) takes a few seconds at the moment.
sounds like you are not using the library function of Kodi so open the files directly from the share takes some time, that should be similar slow at the RPi
Strange, I could reproduce it at WSL Ubuntu 22.04 too, then reconnected and everything works like it should and I can't reproduce it anymore.
Something is fishy. Not sure why this happen.
Can you reliable reproduce it ?
from the log it seems that the addon server was not reachable while you tried it, pls try again if it just works
RPi4 is able to play 4k just fine, the cpu performance is rather limited compared to the 3200g that should be noticeable if you navigate through the menus. Overall the RPi4 should work just fine.
how do you connect to ssh ? putty ... ?
If the LSPCon driver is bad
I think at time the J1900 was around there there was no LSPCon at any board.
Maybe its just a bad HDMI cable ?
Hi, tried to upgrade 10.04 to 11.01 (installed on PC), my system has frozen on the Libreelec welcome screen, I have lost all my configurations on 10.04. I then tried a clean install from USB, same thing happened.
Help please
please open a topic and add some information, currently all we know "not working" that does not really make it possible to help
