Its not possible with the standard skin, but for example Arctic Zeypher (at Kodi repo) should be able to remove so much stuff that you only have one menu point.

He was building 8.2.5.
uh, not sure from what Info you got it but 8.2 isn't even working at 17.10
downgrading gcc doesn't sounds like a good solution if you ask me - but well at least "some" solution

With the current LE Master I am able to build an WP2 image just fine at Ubuntu 18.04 without any changes.
Code

The update is already pred, waiting for merge and building
-
Then, it is necessary to put GCC 6 by default, here is the procedure :
that is not a proper fix
have a look here, that works for me at Ubuntu 18.04 qemu: update to 2.12.0 by CvH · Pull Request #2677 · LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv · GitHub

with this driver is the signal strength feedback
the signal strength is pure garbage, don't trust it
-
there is the output of the xrandr | pastebinit
thats the output of an S905 aml Box
-
that is rather problematic due the way the dvb drivers are working at the kernel
if you use a 4.17 kernel you have to wait till the used media_trees get updated (maybe due pure luck it still works)
4.16 should work, its no overly problem to create an build but nobody had shared their changes for the updated kernel etc ... so starting by zero isn't something that is quickly done.

janor pls ask at the thread of the image you are using
-
why not use the ftp server (proftpd)?

at windows HashTab is quite easy (right click -> hash)
at linux sha256sum /your/path/file
for testing proposes you can out comment the #PKG_SHA256

I will buy
ASROCK J4105B-ITX - Motherboard | Alza.atjust sayin, that has only 1 PCIe slot
ASRock J4105M might be the better choise
-
But i need to transcode 1 or 2 HD channels to.
this is just working with GPU accelerated transcoding, or you need a much more powerful cpu but the J3455 or the successor the J4105 (copmparision PassMark - CPU Comparison Intel Celeron J4105 vs Intel Celeron J3455) can transcode 3-4 streams at the same time via GPU - no guarantees but should work
2x DVBSky S952
or TechnoTrend TT-budget S2-4200 (same card) - btw you can also have a look at amazon.de there are cheaper offers if you have prime
from today perspective, get an J4105 + some DVBSky or TT Cards and you should be fine, but you need Tvh 4.3 - or you have just CPU encoding that is horrible slow
-
both, just use LE defaults and copy the icons from PICONS - Home
srp-full.400x240-400x240.light.on.transparent_$DATE.hardlink.tar.xz
snp-full.400x240-400x240.light.on.transparent_$DATE.hardlink.tar.xz
copy to /storage/picons , reboot
-
nice
I have no usecase for it so testing is rather difficult
but very nice that it works
