Does anyone know which device tree to use for M8S+ S905. This one or something else?
gxbb_p200_2G_m8s+_k3_pro.dtb
Thanks. [emoji1]
Great idea I'll do the same.
I should really start deleting all those posts with complaints and no logs...
+1. Some people just have no respect for what you do for all of us here. So ungrateful.
Can I copy my remote.conf from Android after I flash LE or should I have done that before I flashed it?
Can you confirm whether your box is using eMMC Flash Memory ?
I am taking wild guesses here to narrow it down. If your box doesn't have eMMC it is an issue
If the box doesn't have eMMC, what would it have? Are the 2 choices eMMC and NAND??
What are the differences between the 2?
I have the same box and I use 'gxbb_p200_1G_100M_RealtekWiFi.dtb' which has been working correctly for the past few months.
If you're worried about bricking your box then install and run Libreelec from a SD card. If there are any problems just remove the card and the box goes back to running Android.
On S905X chips, don't you want to be using either the 1gb or the 2 gb file at the bottom??
[/quote] b]S905X:[/b] Device trees for these boxes start with gxl. You can leave a tree that is already present on SD card (fresh install only) or choose one according to your RAM amount.

EDIT - My friend is having exactly the same problem as the above post. He is located in Thailand. I'm on Canada and have never experienced this issue.
Hi All,
A friend is having a very strange issue:
Here has a MXQ M12CX S905X 1gb/8gb box.
The issue is and he can't really narrow it down to streamed video or local video but what happens is this:
He starts say a video stream from an addon like youtube for instance, and what happens is the video starts playing but the remote does not work for a while, sometimes 30 seconds or so, then he has acces to his remote again. A wireless keyboard is the same.
Does anyone have a clue what might be going on?
Which log to look at to diagnose?
Thanks
I tried most of these methods and have found the closest I can get is that I can get to the recovery screen by using Android Terminal Emulator.
What files do I need on the sd card to be able to use the update from EXT command in recovery?
I would like to test sd card install first but thinking I'll have to go straight to installing to NAND.
Appreciate all your help.
EDIT Using Android Terminal Emulator "reboot update" command did work.
But now the settings box is blank and I can't even access settings, so no reset or backup options.
Hi there, couple of questions.
Under LE settings, what is the UPDATE CHANNEL for?
I clicked LE 7.0 and now I have a blank settings box in LE, any idea how to fix?
Thanks
I'm using the method I have always used. I use win32diskimager to write the files to SD Card.
With these files on the sd card LE normally boots, but on this box it boots to Android every time. It's like the reset button is broken and not doing anything.
I can get into recovery but would like to to if I can boot to the SD Card from there or do I have to install to NAND if I update from EXT??
I now have this screen what next?
I would assume update from EXT but which file would I have to have on the SD CARD?
I would like to run from sd card to see if everything works, before installing to NAND.
THANKS.
Perfect. That is what I thought, but guess I was not explaining it properly
Thanks.
Hi there,
My friend has a black plastic cases branded MXQ box. I tried all 3 builds on a SD card but can't get it to boot into LE.
Further more I can't even get it to boot into recovery by holding down the reset button in the AV socket.
Does anyone have any ideas for getting rid of this horrible Android OS and getting LE installed? Below is a splash image that comes up before the MBOX logo.
Regards
Hmm now I a bit confused. Which software works with the aml-vnc then.
I thought RealVNC was installed in the clients PC and that was what accessed the local network and media box running LE.
That sounds like the best way. Would I have to install realVNC on their machine before starting the remote access? I would assume so.
So what about if I want to offer remote support to someone?
I am able to get their www ip address from the box.
Would they then have to configure their router to open ports 5800 and 5900 or temporarily put it in the DMZ, for me to connect to them?
Regards.
