Make sure you've been installed LE Beta from scratch, as mentioned in the release notes.
The only complaint I have is that the resolution isn't ideal and the Kodi menu is slightly wider than the screen. Different Kodi resolutions aren't the answer. In-movie, I can tweak the zoom and other settings, but if anyone has any ideas on this, they would be greatly appreciated.
That's a common issue, and it's only related to your TV. Find something like a "picture optimization mode" in your TV settings. Usually switching the mode off makes the picture smaller, and Kodi menus will fit perfectly.
Maybe you can make it work with the Docker implementation: Click!
Yes, subs are from an anime and yes srt subs do work, ass however do not. Thought it might be worth pointing it out...?!
Sure. Activate debug logging at GUI (HUD will appear on top), reboot, reproduce the error and post the resulting link of pastekodi.
Third log - clean log, no add-ons, defaults everywhere, only CEC device is Kodi
The log shows CEC communication errors. The reason could be a bad cable. Make sure the cable is conform to HDMI 2.0 or 2.1.
Make sure subtitles are set to English at LE's region / language setup.
We already have a bug report about this. It seems like CEC stops working on RPi4 when multiple CEC devices are connected.
Remove banned add-ons, remove all potential CEC devices from your TV, and test again.
On a fresh install, HDMI audio should work without additional settings. If it doesn't, go into audio settings, set the amount of output channels to 2.0 and enable pass-through for testing.
Don't forget to not upgrade to LE 10 Beta. Install from scratch.
On LE 10 Beta some HDMI settings are not editable at config.txt anymore. They moved to cmdline.txt with different syntax.
Also notice that audio doesn't work on HDMI and headphone jack at the same time. You have to select one exclusively.
To translate the answer a little bit:
LE 9.95.2 means LE 10 Beta. Don't forget to install this Beta from scratch - do not update your current LE version.
Your current Kodi version has known subtitle bugs. Some of them (hopefully all) are fixed at Kodi 19.1. Plans are to include Kodi 19.1 into LE 10 Final, so eventually you just have to wait to get the fix.
Since Kodi 19.1 has been released yesterday, will the next LE beta/rc already contain the changes since Kodi 19? If not, will the final LE 10 release be based on Kodi 19.1?
Current plans are that Kodi 19.1 will be part of the final LE 10.

PS: TV's often have a "picture mode" setting. Play around with those modes (set to "dynamic" or "auto").
