I have the N2 for two weeks and it is incredible. The developers fix all the kernel problems and everything works as expected (including HD audio passthrough). Meanwhile, they are updating the kernel to 5. It's a good board

I bought an N2, because in a few weeks, this is what they have achieved:
What works:
Booting from eMMC / SD
DVB (USB only)
Decoding hardware
HDR (HDR10 and HLG formats)
Network
Sound (including passthrough for all formats)
What does not work:
Automatic color depth / color space switching (aka cd / cs)
I will sell the rock64 and the z28pro, but not the rockpro64 for a future. At the moment, the audio and many videos, fails.
6 months with it and many times I have to connect the C2.
Thanks to Kwiboo for all his work. I wish I had knowledge to help.

Kwiboo , Hyperion will work on kernel 5? Or it has incompatibilities?.
Please, give us a paypal account to send you some beers or a house on the beach.

Hi, thanks Kwiboo for getting network working properly in this version!
I attach a log file with my first tests running 4K videos on my rockpi4, I hope it can be useful for you.
For instance, in the example attached, you can see video start playin correctly, and just after the screen turning completly black, the weird pixeled picture is shown (frozen).
Thanks.
This happens too on z28pro and rockpro64. The mediainfo say "Chroma subsampling: 4:2:0 (Type 2)". Is the only difference I found.

Some videos like this one:
Code
Display MoreVideo ID : 1 Format : HEVC Format/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding Format profile : Main [email protected]@High Codec ID : V_MPEGH/ISO/HEVC Duration : 5 min 0 s Bit rate : 40.9 Mb/s Width : 3 840 pixels Height : 2 160 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 23.976 (24000/1001) FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 (Type 2) Bit depth : 10 bits Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.205 Stream size : 1.43 GiB (84%) Writing library : ATEME Titan File 3.8.16 (4.8.16.0) Language : English Default : Yes Forced : No Color range : Limited Color primaries : BT.2020 Transfer characteristics : PQ Matrix coefficients : BT.2020 non-constant Mastering display color primaries : Display P3 Mastering display luminance : min: 0.0001 cd/m2, max: 1000 cd/m2
they do not work correctly. The only thing I see different is "Chroma subsampling: 4: 2: 0 (Type 2)". Could this be the problem?

My PC is compatible with HDR, DTS-HD and TrueHD/Atmos. I'll leave Libreelec for a while and do the same. I will install OMV on the Rockpro and use Kodi and Yatse with the MySQL database. Thanks a lot!

I have tried several samples like the LG Cymatic Jazz 4k Demo. Any type of HDR or HLG does not work in the rockpro64. I bought another board, as it seems that the rk3399 will take time to work properly
-
Supposed that it also works with the rockpro64? Does not work for me
-
I have read on the Pine64 website: "The ROCKPro64 4GB board designated as LTS (long Term Supply) model, PINE64 committed to supply at least for 5 years until year 2023 and beyond.".
It still has things to fix, like audio passthrough, ethernet issues or 4k 10bit videos, but I hope that have a solution someday.
-
It's not 100% yet. 4K is ok. 4k and 10bits on some of my files causes lag or skipping.
Thank you. It seems that the same thing happens with rockpro64. I have tried the C2 and now, it works without problems. Problem resolved temporarily.

I have many movies HEVC 4k 10bits. Is the rock64 compatible with these videos?. I need a board with USB3, gigabit, etc.. With the rockpro64, these videos are unwatchable.
-
mike2002 . Yes, it happens sometimes. But if I stop and play again, it usually works properly. With the DTS-HRA there is no sound in any way
-
3) Something you already know, Audio Passthrough is not working.
Audio passthrough works for me, except DTS-HRA.
-
It seems a network driver problem. I bought an usb3 gigabit adapter and now, the write speed is around 80Mb/s and the read speed 35Mb/s. Stable without broken file transfers.
-
RK3399 is now 32bit !!!
Everything seems to work on rockpro64, but I have the same problem with network or samba. Read files from Libreelec is extremely slow and sometimes, it freezes.

Could you try the versions under the old folder?
With your latest build LibreELEC-RK3399.aarch64-9.0-devel-20180909172907-7801eb7-rockpro64.img.gz, CEC works! Thanks!
