After upgrading from 8.0.2 to 8.2.0 my Macmini is no longer waking up from suspend using the apple ir remote.
It only wakes up when I press the poweron button on the device itself but not with the remote.
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Jeroen.

Hi,
I am running LE 7.0.3 on my Macmini (late 2012 model) and am verry happy with it !!
However one thing is bugging me for already a year now.
Since OE 6 and LE the wakeup from suspend using my apple remote is no longer working, while it used to work fine in OE 5 (after applying the instructions in this thread).
Now when my Macmini is suspended (white led on the front is blinking) and I press the apple remote then I notice that the led stops blinking and stays on, but my screen stays black/blank and everything seems to be frozen (also connecting with ssh is then not possible anymore). The only thing I can do is to switch off and on the power.
I have posted the problem before on the OE forum but it didn't lead to a solution, so I thought I will try a new post.
Any help, suggestions or fix are more then welcome. I really hope this can be fixed in LE 8.
Happy to provide any further information or perform instructions or testing on request.
One thing I noticed is that the "cat /proc/acpi/wakeup" command shows S4 state for all listed devices, and this used to be S3 before.
Maybe this is related to the problem??
Macmini:~ # cat /proc/acpi/wakeup

atvclient is broken in v7.90.010 ALPHA, so you have to fall back to 7.0.3.
Try the following command to list the usb devices:
I used the instructions in this thread to get the wakeup-from-suspend working (at that time using OE 5), however since OE 6 and LE the wakeup is broken on my machine (a Macmini 2012).
Fix is merged and will appear in next release. I'll mention the wakeup issue to others .. it's not part of the OS that I understand.
Yes would be great if you could ask arround for the wakeup issue.
When my Macmini is in standby and I press the apple remote then I notice that the little white light on the front stops blinking and turns on, but my screen stays blank and the device is stuck/frozen (also connecting with ssh is then not possible anymore).
It worked perfectly fine with OE 5, so I assume it is not a hardware issue.

Thanks.
Yes the atvclient and my apple remote are working now with Krypton
Thanks very much Chewitt for the fix.
By the way, I was kind of hoping with the new kernel update (4.9) that wakeup from suspend (using the apple remote) would be working again (after it was broken since OE 6), however it is not.
I noticed that atvclient has been updated on its GitHub page to explicitly support Krypton.
Does the LibreELEC v7.90.010 build contain this update?

The problem is still there with the alpha build 10.
Same problem is described here ==> LibreELEC
but no soliution yet
While testing I noticed it isn't a hardware issue:
If I stop the atvclient.service :
And run atvclient from the cli :
Then I can see the all the commands being send form the IR remote:
Sending button 01
Up
Sending button 01
Sending button 04
Right
Sending button 04
Sending button 02
Down
Sending button 02
Sending button 03
Left
Sending button 03
Sending button 05
Play/pause
Sending button 06
Menu
Sending button 05
Play/pause
However with LibreELEC started normally i cannot control the UI with the Apple IR remote.
What can I do to fix this?
Any help is much appreciated.
Jeroen
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem.
Did you get it solved and how?
Jeroen
Running on Macmini. I upgraded from 7.0.2 to the new v7.90.010 ALPHA.
However now my Apple Remote (IR) does no longer work.
Does anybody know how to fix this?
It always worked out of the box.
One more question:
What OS kernel version is LE currently using ?
Thx.
