So what needs to be done to activate this? I can connect the remote, however it's unresponsive.
I've edited and copied 98-eventlircd.rules to /storage/.config/udev.rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules.
Created a aftvsremote.evmap but I'm not sure where to put it. 
Haven't tinkered with Linux in a number of years so I'm quite rusty and out of the loop...
Clearly I'm missing something...
