  • Wireless Network settings screen

    Hi all!

    I'm trying to build my own "LibreElec"-like distro using Yocto, as an educational exercise.

    I noticed that in LibreElec there is this useful feature of the network settings, where I can connect to a wireless network from the Kodi interface.

    This feature is a must for any distribution where Kodi is the only GUI application.

    The guys at the Kodi Development forum told me that this is not a feature of Kodi, rather a feature of LibreElec, implemented by some kind of plugin.

    So basically my questions are:

    1. How is this feature implemented?

    2. Can this plugin be installed on other kodi installations?

    3. Does Kodi need to be run as root for this to work? (Or: Can it be done using setcap?)
