So the main PC I have I want to change to something much smaller.

I guess my question is should I go with

1 a single box solution ie tvheadend running on the client thats plugged directly into the tv and use it server and client

2 go with a 2 box solution ie say n3450 mini pc for the server part running linux with tvheadend and then a 2nd amlogic box for my client needs.

I have an amazon fire that I'll use on the 2nd tv in the house as I wouldnt be worried about refresh rates on that.

    Hi,

So I am currently using a fully fledged pc g4560 with 8gb of memory its a matx build with 3tb of storage.

I've moved all my media now to a NAS cheap one I got on amazon warehouse its slow enough but grand for the job. Its a buffalo ls220

I was using mediaportal and have now switched over to Kubuntu running kodi. Tested liberec fist and thought it was quality.

I use tvheadend on this box as well. It has a Sat2ip box with 4 lnb connections and a dvbt usb dongle. Eventually the setup will be supporting 3 tv's with wired Ethernet to all devices.

My ultimate goal would be move the PC part to a much smaller box. I'm moving house in July and will have dolby atmos and HDR TV with dennon 2400

I've been looking at the beelink m1 for the server part and a amlogic m8s pro l box for the client part. I'll sell my old kit to fund most of this.

But the current PC is sitting in a cupboard under the TV and seems way to big for what I want. Its controlled by a very old MCE HP usb dongle thingamjig

Could people give me some advice on my idea. Ideally if I could get it all into a 1 box solution with libereelec that would be fantastic

But I want tv headend stable for scheduled recording.

    Dolby Atmos pass through

More than likely will leave it powered on 24/7 so low power usage would be good as well

    HDR 10

Netflix 1080p will be fine for the moment as where I am moving I only have 20gb of data a DAY. Yes a day and I will be working from home so can't really breach this although it resets every morning

    And most of all stability
