nightlies have already addons for generic, so just grab them from the repo

    did that !

that's exactly the point what makes me wonder:

10.80.0-Generic-x86_64-service.tvheadend43-10.80.0.101 is what is installed - as said - via buildin Add-On tool

    investigating it more:

    with ldd -v ~/.kodi/addons/service.tvheadend43/bin/tvheadend

    on LE 10 I see

    nothing/empty

    but on nightly:

    libx265.so.199 => not found

    or with ldd -u ~/.kodi/addons/service.tvheadend43/bin/tvheadend
    Unused direct dependencies:
    libx265.so.199

    P.S.

I'm no developer, just fetched the above ldd command from INet

thanks for response, but no, no guy's

my, the above, Tvheadend 4.3 was fetched via add-on installation from the original LE repos, what's configured per default /build in.

so no manual install or a third party add-on repos was used.

My build of tvheadend should not be used with LE nightlies.

    quiet clear to me.

maybe you remember my question moon's ago, where I stuck with the original tvheadend on your devel-image.

your answer was: default TVheadend is compiled for/with X11 and your's without X11 for GBM.

so I spent no minute thinking about installing it (your special tvheadend) on an original nightly !

Today I clean installed a new box and tvheadend 4.3 won't start with tvheadend-logfile entry:

    ==> /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.tvheadend43/service.log <==
/storage/.kodi/addons/service.tvheadend43/bin/tvheadend: error while loading shared libraries: libx265.so.199: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

    nightly is the shiny new

    LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-11.0-nightly-20210912-85b190b.img.gz

haven't had any problems with TVH 4.3 with last nightlies or the image from smp

    log files:

    http://ix.io/3yGS

    idea's/rotten fruits ?

I am not sure if that's a good idea, I am using TVH 4.3 but I did not encounter any advantages, instead there's a bit strange behaviour of TVH 4.3 configuration webpage (depends on browser) and at least an issue with Kodi which can't display subtitles on some TV channels.

I don't use subtitles, so I can't say anything to it, but I have had a lot of crashes with elder tvheadend.

    only fixed with 4.3

    see comment #9 here:

    no expert here !

    that said:

    *I* see a lot of CD/DVD errors (... blk_update_request: I/O error, dev sr0 ...)

    so my questions are:

    1)

is there a somehow broken and/or selfburned CD/DVD in the drive which the box tries to read over and over again so the box is too busy to display liveTV correct ?

    2)

what tvheadend version are you running 4.2 or 4.3 ?

    if 4.2:

    update to 4.3 !

it's somewhat "hidden" under section named "SSH Console".

please pick the correct image for you box in the wget command from here:

    Downloads - LibreELEC

in any case backup before !

    P.S.

I'm not sure, but I guess you should be able to do the upgrade now also via auto-update by short time activating "Show custom channels" (which should update the contense of the subseq. options/boxes), adjust subseq. options and de-activate "show custom channels" afterwards and then upgrade the box. [1]

    P.P.S

don't forget to update your addon's afterwards too

    [1]

... if the upgrade from 9.2 to 10 is allowed at all (me came from 10-RC)

    +++ EDIT +++

    from here:

    LibreELEC (Matrix) 10.0.0 - LibreELEC

cit.: "So unless you are already running an image with Kodi 19 inside, a clean install is preferred..."

    nightly, RC have kodi 19

and from here (for boxes running generic):

    LibreELEC Generic - LibreELEC

    LibreELEC 9.2 has Kodi 18.9

    combining both sentences:

    - clean install for an upgrade from 9.2 to 10 is preferred

    - but an upgrade from 9.2 to 10 is also allowed, but could fail

    ...

I will wait a few months to make a second attempt at installing LE 10.0.0.

I guess doing so would change anything, cause the update procedure stays the same for LE 10 and LE 11 is out then

We've had our hands full with ...

    okay, thanks for quick response.

    regarding chewitt option c)

what do your fritzbox log's say (wifi connect/disconnect option regarding log's ON ?)

alas in german from a FB 7590:

    - left side: "Ereignisse"

    - right side, Top box: choose "WLAN"

=> Option to log wifi connects/disconnects and wifi info's

you know that FB's do wifi channel scans from time to time (RADAR) and that there were a lot of complains moon's ago esp. with elder router firmware ?

    for further reading/investigation:

FRITZ!Box tot? Recover, Firmware Up-/ Downgrade | IP Phone Forum

wifi problems are mostly on both ends: the router and the client.

a router setting working for years means not to fit the need of today ([maybe] your neighbours are in the "wifi-game" too) !

    P.S.

a long enough cable with usefull color could also be layed an the floor following the walls or hidden under/nailed on the "skirting board"

is "i-FlaskDisk K8 64GB SSD" a second disk and windows is running on another one ?

if so you might clear that disk under windows using "diskpart":

open an terminal with admin rights
    key in diskpart (starts diskpart)

than all following commands step by step (read the comments in brackets !)

    - list disk ( to see all disks, USB-Disks too)
    - select disk N (please adjust "N" with the output of the previous command)
    - detail disk (to be sure you picked the right disk)
    - clean (wipes the partition table (the disk ?); "clean all" would overwrite with zero's )
    - create partition primary
    - format fs=ntfs quick (gets reformated when installing LE)
    - assign (assigns a drive letter )
    - active (makes it bootable)

    - exit

    as before:

!!! THE DISK IS AFTERWARDS EMPTY (all data lost) !!!

    P.S.

with the above you could also create windows install usb sticks (when running windows) !

you just need to copy the content of an windows install DVD to the same usb stick after the above "exit" command.

its basically a wording thing, if you hit build from our github sources you get a devel image - besides the name there is the same content

kenmills uses the HDR builds from smp

Am I wrong that nightly is build from the same github source ?

    if not:

why is my nightlies window system on an Intel NUC then "X11" (last updated yesterday) ?

maybe I need to mention that I run an continuous updated nightly which I first (?; german: erstmals) put on an stick 2 month ago.

    must I fresh install nightly to see the "future graphic stack without X11";

    I guest it's called "GBM" ?!
