I need to add a directory and files to the web server document root then make a subdirectory writeable. It was straightforward on raspberry pi with /var/www/html to add TVHadmin and change the write permissions of the data subdirectory to www-data:www-data; that was all I needed to do.
I think .kodi/addons is a place from which installed add-ons are configured. No doubt there's a way to make TVHadmin installable but I don't know enough. LibreElec's /var makes no sense to me.
I would like to install the TVHadmin (TVHeadend add-on) on a machine running LibreElec with TVHeadend. Is it possible?
The instructions here GitHub - dave-p/TVHadmin: PHP-powered web front-end for TVHeadend, inspired by VDRadmin. are generic, referring to the web server's HTTPROOT directory. All I've found with a quick poke around is a /usr/www directory. I thought I should be looking in /storage but haven't found anything I recognize. I guess this read only file /usr/share/kodi/addons/webinterface.default/index.html is copied to ... flash ram somewhere?
Is there a way I can manually install this add-on?
Yes, I can see the tuners at IP:9981 and they're working ok. The TVH server and client are on the same box. The server is set up with 3 usernames, admin, me, and *, with passwords for the first two, for administration, EPG browsing, and client interaction respectively. The 3rd is a default entry the first two are wizard created on first logging in to the web UI.
The client needs the IP of the server and 127.0.0.1 worked previously and I don't think hardcoding it to a 192.168.1.x will resolve (I've never known a machine not know where 127.0.0.1 is).
Update:
OK. Problem solved. Somewhere the default user * was deleted, perhaps when I added a user (myself) and I hadn't entered the username and password in the client.
I'm using LibreElec with TVHeadend as a dedicatd PVR. Did a fresh install of v9.3.2, using Realtek RTL2832 USB tuner for DVB-T and a Hauppauge Win-Nova-T for DVB-S. Initially it worked ok but after a couple of days I got the message shown in the Subject line when selecting TV or Guide.
I have searched without success for a solution.
The kodi.log showed some errors suggesting DNS problems. Switching from DHCP to manual network settings resolved these but not the problem of no response from the TVHeadend server (see below). I have no other add-ons installed except for Backup. Deleting TV*.db and Epg*.db from Userdata/Database didn't resolve. TVHeadend appears to be running ok. I can log in via the web UI and the EPG is displayed.
