Glad to here all this, seems the problem has now been discovered
Thanks
Do you mean that driver doesn't have capability to manage serial data transfer or, is it a problem of pin assignments? Is the last DTB you have sent correct?
What about this patch? (it solved the problem with the Android kernel version) Could be it applied to the S912 project?
afl1 did you read the previous post? In Khadas forum they can provide you free physical samples, it has been commented here: DVB/DTV Extension Board for VIM2 (VTV) - Hardware and Peripherals - Khadas Community
We need to unlock this issue asap, as there are many people waiting for a fix.
Regards.
You can create kernel debug for dvb driver.
Enable debug with following commands:
Codeecho 15 > /sys/module/r848a/parameters/debug echo 15 > /sys/module/avl6862/parameters/debug_avl echo 15 > /sys/module/aml/parameters/debug_dvb echo 15 > /sys/module/aml/parameters/debug_dmx
Start logging ssh session and submit following command watch -tn 1 dmesg -c
Start scanning in tvh.
Find attached my log. Why is it failing?
In tvheadend I can see:
2018-01-19 23:30:47.463 mpegts: 12551.5V in Red DVB-S - tuning on Availink avl6862 #0 : DVB-S #0

Can confirm that this setup works with an external HD Star sat receiver.
Shoog
With external tunners this libreelec +dtb has always work. The aim is to make it work for the internat dtv board.

Another test version for internal dvb driver.
Install or upgrade to LE 8.90.2. For dtb use gxm_kvim2.zip.
Install addon driver.dvb.crazycat-9.0.101-kvim2.zip.
Hi @af1 . Our tests seems to fail and fail again. Do you have any more updates about this issue? Regards
I fixed reset and power pins in dtb.
Hi @af1, maybe this can help you to find out whats happening:
LibreELEC for the VIM2 - Khadas VIM2 - Khadas Community
Take a look at Frank last post from Khadas team.

Thank afl1
I am trying that DTB with LE-8.2.2.3 from kszaq and it seems to scan, but not tunning. I attach the TVH log for DVB-S and DVB-T.
By the way, the predefined muxes configuration for Astra19.2E in the TVH 4.2.5 from LibreELEC repo 8.2.113 is wrong and I have had to manually add 3 in order to test (I think data is right, from kingofsat listings).
they previously said us that we have to test in libreelec 9.x . Driver won't work at all for 8.2.2.3
So...do we have to install this addon in LE 9.0?
Or only with the dtb will be enough?
Regards
You don't understand me.
Khadas VIM2 with DVB board is supported since 8.1.10-rc1 build. Drivers are included in system image by default.
I only told you that you cannot install DVB driver addons, they are meant only for 8.9 builds.
kszaq then how are we going to resolve our original problem reported in the first post? We can see in libreelec TV adapters but channels can't be opened....any idea of how to resolve it? We all have this problem: "I can see the /dev/dvb/adapter0 device tree. However, neither VDR nor TVHeadend can tune a DVB-S channel."
Regards
Sorry for delay. I was busy.
Install modified driver addon driver.dvb.crazycat-9.0.100x.zip and let me know.
Hi afl1, same problem here. Please check image attached in last version of libreelec (8.2.2.3): "the dependency on os.libreelec.tv version 9.0 could not be satisfied".
Regards.
Sorry for delay. I was busy.
Install modified driver addon driver.dvb.crazycat-9.0.100x.zip and let me know.
Thank you for this afk1, I'm now working out of home but this afternoon I will try as soon as I arrive home. Many thanks
Regards
DTB is correct. Driver successfully started. Tomorrow I'll build driver with slightly modified i2c control for testing.
Thank you afk1, just let us know which are the next tests that should be done
THX for log files. My changes in dtb are incorrect. Pls send me log for original dtb. You simple publish link from dmesg | paste
Here you have
Display More# dmesg | paste
<html>
<head>
<title>500 Internal Server Error</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>500 Internal Server Error</h1>
The server has either erred or is incapable of performing the requested operation.<br /><br />
</body>
</html>
In configuration Tvheadend tree of TV adapters is empty.
Use dmesg > output.log and attach this file getting it in the directory where you are (with winscp for example). You can also use only dmesg command and paste all the lines in a new file.
Regards.
Thanx, Maybe tomorrow. We have night already.
Hi af1,
Find here the output of the dmesg command in libreelec with this new dtb file.
I have tried to install tvheadend with this new dtb.img and is even worst now, as they aren't appearing any tv adapters.
Regards.
Are you able to send me dbt.img from android? You can find it in android upgrade image or submit ssh command:dd if=/dev/dtb of=/storage/dtb-kvim2.img bs=1k count=256
Hi af1, let me now if this file attached above by sch61 is enough to find a fix. Regards.
I'm out right now and I can' t help you with this query (I hope someone else can provide you this file).
Just in case it helps, you can find the android rom we are adding in emmc here: VIM2_Nougat_vTV_V171024
This afternoon I could send you the file you are asking for if this doesn't help at all
Here you can see all the vTV versions available: Firmware - Khadas Docs
This is the last one: VIM2_Nougat_vTV_V171024
