If you buy a decent 4k hdr tv then you have 4k netflix, amazon, yt. The rest can play with a cheap s905x player (even uhd bd). Problem solved.

Have you tried to modify cache settings?
I can watch any UHD BD (even with 90Mbps) with LE7 on S905X with usb3-gbit lan.

Good news for the Le Potato owners...

Maybe GDPR-2 can help with his shiny new Le Potato...

I thought i was - I have a s905x device with 2gb - whats the difference in the nand version?
You can try with the default dtb or 1G dtb (in case you have a fake 2GB box). You don't need the nand version.
Possible to wake up LE over CEC?
Tanix TX3 mini is listening for power on/off commands always over IR, so one can power it on while it is powered off (or suspended/hibernated).
Can it be made that it is listening for CEC commands also?
No,

Thats the main issue Im having with this player, aside the fact that its SoC is too weak to use software Upscaling like Lanczos 3 for SD content. (i. e. DVDs and so on.). Also it cant do software deinterlacing like Yadif x2 for neither HD content nor SD content. Looks like the SoC is too weak for those tasks. Which makes this player a rather mediocre media player.
You are complaining about quality and want to watch SD content and DVD...

I understand you man, Im not being rude or anything. Waiting 1 month patiently and googling whole world on how to hack this LCD has made me frustrated yesterday and now with your comment again. I hoped I will get a LCD christmas present but now I got checking this forum every few minutes from my phone and still nothing.
How hard is it to give another tip to guys over internet in 24h alongside "check thread" and "modified dtb" which both are useless instead of writing long text what everyone including me knows.
I appologize for my unpatient waiting and wish you happy holidays, but please do think what you left us to do. We all have a smartphone in our pockets all day long and notifications are at our finger tips. Its not hard.
To summarize everything into one post:
1) fd628 systemd unit cannot start /usr/sbin/fd628 (even manually over SSH I cannot open this file)
2) /sys/class/leds/fd628_dev/ lots of files here, only led_light works 1-7
3) /dev/fd628 - doing something to this *file* turns off LCD until reboot.
4) i can see module loaded but not used by anything in "lsmod"
5) theres a seperate thread here more or less just about this LCD and we are all leaving them behind.
Thats it.
What's wrong with you, man?
It's Christmas, please behave.Tape your LCD and enjoy your Christmas dinner.

Are you sure? It has something like 2400 geek bench score in multi core. Shouldnt that be enough for software decoding + software upscaling at the same time of 720p content?
Wow that would really suck.. KODI team really needs to figure out to implement 4K HDR with Intel NUC Boxes, cause apparently all other ARM socs are garbage except maybe Apple soc and Nvidia Shield soc..
Why it is so important? Who want to watch 720p content on a 4k HDR tv?

It is more easy to try your own settings then waiting until somebody tells you the default values.
With this I never experienced any stuttering or pausing:
<cache>
<buffermode>1</buffermode>
<memorysize>139460608</memorysize>
<readfactor>10</readfactor>
</cache>
Maybe this does nothing, but still I have no problem.

Adamg, with due respect kindly fix the problem of reboot to internal.
Remove the sd card or pendrive and reboot.

H96 Pro has a working u-boot. Is it possible it works on H96 Pro+?

If I force my splitter to 4K, my amp loses audio. Doubtful any switch will work. I already have two switches, neither of them works (to be fair, one of them is a switch, not a splitter). At first I thought it was working fine, because Kodi osd media info said it was playing a file at 4K. Sure, it was playing a 4K file, but my TV was outputting 1080p.
My AVR has HDMI 2.0 and it works fine with 4k video. The only problem is it cannot passthrough 4k HDR video (out is 4k SDR).
So I hope this HDR splitter will work with my system.
-
No I cannot confirm, it is on the way. But in other thread another splitter mentioned which works fine. It has an EDID switch, so you can force it to use the tv's capability. I ordered this because it is declared as HDR capable.
-
I recommend an USB3 - Gigabit LAN adapter.
I have two (with ASIX88179 and Realtek8153 chip) and both working fine.
-
Wow, That's a quick support!
-
Which S912 is not supported?
-
Adam86 :
Instead of buying an expensive HDR capable AVR you can buy a much cheaper HDR HDMI splitter and you can enjoy HD audio and 4k together,
-
Any ideas`?
You've got a fake 3GB box. If it works with 2GB dtb then it has 2GB RAM. I think product link is not allowed here, so better to remove it.
