Bingo! The LE splash is working now in 2160p.
I really appreciate your work!

Sorry, this is correct link for the latest test version: LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20160823222143-r23289-g475b5e8.tar
I've rebooted to android, set the resolution to 2160p60, then rebooted back to libreelec with this version.
First I can see the bear logo (was it here before?) for a few sec then comes the libreelec logo but a little distorted (see the attachment) but it is full screen not quarter and according to the tv it is 2160p.
Is there any chance for LibreELEC boot to set screen resolution to 1080p and later switch to 4k.
Seems that even though it starts in 1080p, LE sets 4k sending an incorrectly sized splash. During boot (LE Logo) TV reports boot resolution as 4k.It is just annoying to see 1/4 screen boot logo.
Thanks
I thought the MINI MX-G and MINI MX III are pretty much the same thing, but it seems they differ more...
This depends on screen resolution configured in u-boot. I guess you see LibreELEC logo at 1080p/720p screen resolution and then it switches to 4K?
Yes, LibreELEC starts in 1080p60 and then KODI switches to 2160p60.
GUi is now working, but LibreELEC splash screen still shows on a 1/4 screen.
Interesting. This never happened on my MINI MX-G. Have you experienced this with the original 006 version too?
In the 4th test build I fixed 005's approach to render GUI at 1080p and then scale to 4K. I think in your case scaling does not enable for some reason at boot, I will revise my patch and post a next test build, hopefully the last one.

Hopefully the last test build that should solve 1/4th screen GUI at boot: 2016-08-23-4K-test5
It's hard to test this bug because last time it happens to me only once altough I did several reboot, shutdown and all kind of activity. It happened only when cannot play a file and KODI stopped working.
Edit:
It seems OK to me.
I tried that AAC file again and Kodi freezed and restarted but the GUI remained the same resolution and full screen.
Thank you for your patient testing. Can you please test this version:
2016-08-22-4K-test4I hope you don't mind being my guinea pigs, I don't have a 4K TV.
Works like a charm!
You are our hero!
Edit:
After 40 minutes playing different movies and video files I found one demo with an exotic AAC sound and Kodi is freezed, came back to life after a few sec black screen but after that the GUI shrinked to quarter size. I rebooted the box and everything went back to normal.
Yes, after you updated to 006 there is no need for anything but putting tar/img.gz into update folder and rebooting. At this point I'm working on another version to fix performance rendering issues.
I copied the 4 files from target folder to the SD root. That's the same, isn't that?
In 005 GUI was rendered in 1080p and scaled to display resolution, e.g. 2160p.
I didn't know that, sorry.
Then I'm waiting for the new test version.
The 3-5 seconds lag appear as it seems that S905 is not capable of 4K playback + 4K GUI rendering at the same time. I will assemble a 2nd build for you today with different approach to GUI scaling to test.
I'm happy to test anything but I doubt it is an S905 issue. The 4k playback is flawless in version 005 with GUI res 2160p or 1080p with or without overlay.
Please try this build for GUI resolution during 4K playback, update only from 7.0.2.006!

Thank you.
The quarter screen problem solved but unfortunately the 4k playback has some glitches in every 3-5 seconds especially when the GUI overlay is on.
Edit:
I've repeated the test with the next version (LibreELEC-S905.aarch64-7.0-devel-20160821184509-r23281-gc0127b4.tar) too and got the same result. Maybe they differs in wifi stuff only.
4K output doesn't work properly due to patches that fix resolution switching. To troubleshoot this, I ask 4K TV owners to paste output of cat /sys/class/amhdmitx/amhdmitx0/disp_cap command. Please don't paste this for 1080p TVs.
I've opened a new thread for this: LibreELEC

Issue: 2160p50 and 2160p60 GUI displays only on quarter screen
006 has not been posted yet, update process is different due to device tree changes. You should wait for a release post.
Sorry, I thought it's ready to test.
I've made a quick test on 006 but haven't found any improvement but the 4k playback is broken.
I mean the 4k video is OK but the GUI is in the bottom left corner only. (GUI res:1080p60, 4k playback)
Also if I choose GUI resolution 2160p 50Hz or 2160P 60Hz then it shows only quarter screen GUI. 24, 25 and 30Hz are OK.
anyone help, i cant boot version 006 from sd card, 005 works fine, any help would be appreciated, thanks
You should press the reset button until the Libreelec text shows.
Sorry for the silly question but where can I find the changelog for version 006?
